Nick Cave’s ‘Red Right Hand’ just came on a playlist. Shivers all through it. What an exquisitely-written song, so meticulously done. ‘Border fires’/‘humming wires’… the pairing of ‘barrio’ and ‘bowery’… ‘one microscopic cog in his catastrophic plan’… A literary masterpiece.

I’ve stopped watch CBS
Hi Sally. When Weiss published a supposed expose on the death of George Floyd, a veteran criminal justice reporter showed in deep detail that the piece was not just wrong but filled with falsehoods and misrepresentations. Weiss did not retract the piece. What do you think of that?
This is really smart. Amazed at the hysteria over the ascendance of a woman entrepreneur who clearly knows how to cover and sell news and who's not afraid to take on a mob. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...

Gotta note here. I cut my teeth in medical sales & pharma. I worked for decades in marketing & adverting. The amount of AI pitching, PR, promo, placed articles just shouts market conversion not expansion. They are so over their skis this mkt is not growing. And may not. @kairyssdal.bsky.social

I am getting tired of posts telling me to fight the current tyranny, without any ideas on HOW to fight. So I am going to start researching ideas from history and culture, and doing them. Here is one I found today: www.bbc.com/culture/arti...
Requiem: How a poem resisted Stalin
To avoid persecution by Stalin, Anna Akhmatova burnt her writings and memorised the words of her poem Requiem. By doing so she ensured its survival, writes Martin Puchner.

Every foul ball someone yells let the kid have it. What the hell kids are so spoiled. Getting a ball should be a blood sport. I had to play cribbage w/dad and win to have dinner.

A random NYC Gem. Friends were in town. We went to New York Historical Museum. And right there two teens dripping cosplay. Like they woke up texted “Let’s go to a museum styling.” Old timey date. Ya gotta ❤️ NYC.

Corporate media first creates the news, then profits off selling it.
1/2 You could write a book about one atrocious headline in print NYT today

(I sort of wrote this book 30 years ago, Breaking the News, but others can take a turn.)

What's wrong this headline? Mamdani "faces scrutiny" **ONLY AND EXCLUSIVELY** because NYT decided to make this a "thing."

Really bad.
