Raul Jimenez' penalty run-up with its three different stutter stops is insane and should be tried at the Hague imo

This was the day after my dad died. It was a lot all at once.
We'll all remember where we were on Jan 2, 2023, the night it appeared a football player died. Some players were able to move on. Others, not so much.

Jordan Poyer?

“That fucked me up. That fucked me up for a long time. I didn’t care after that.”

Pretty wild that the best Jewish deli in Buffalo is just a cafeteria inside of an office building on Delaware. Risa's is undefeated imo

Last decade is tough (there are some great options from just before 2015). I'd say:

Russell Crowe in The Nice Guys
Benicio del Toro in One Battle After Another
This is a fun question—best “serious” actor in a comedic role of the last decade?
It’s so much easier for comic actors to do drama than vice versa. Look at Jim Carrey in Eternal Sunshine or Truman Show, and then look at De Niro’s comedies, they’re terrible

Have now been out of work* for more than 8 months. It's very tough out there. No responses, AI filtering of resumes, all that stuff. So if anybody knows of anyone looking for somebody in digital marketing, please let me know.

FIFA’s pricing strategy for World Cup is not only terrible for foreigners who want to travel, it also treats U.S. sports fans as FIFA’s personal ATM and excludes many domestically from a sport which is still in a growth phrase in the U.S.

Exorbitant World Cup ticket prices could ruin hopes of growing soccer in the U.S.
Even the least expensive tickets for next summer's World Cup will be unaffordable for the majority of Americans

Would've been nice to go to a local World Cup but oh well
FIFA has hiked World Cup ticket prices yet again.

It's now...
💵 $700 for some standard group stage tickets
💵 $140 *at minimum* — no more Category 4
💵 $8,680 for a Category 1 ticket to the final

@theathleticfc.bsky.social has published a full list of prices here:
World Cup ticket prices rise again after draw; What each match costs to attend
For the first time, tickets are available to specific World Cup games, and the prices are largely on a significant rise

I think this is an issue with the whole "working in sports" thing in general. Every one of these teams thinks you value being in the arena/at a game more than a living wage. I remember Bolton Wanderers offering something like £15,000 for a graphic designer role 10 years ago.
Sabres have a few jobs posted on LinkedIn and account service people, maybe the hardest damn job in the organization, make $16 an hour. Man fuck Pegula.
