Prodeus is another I'd consider top tier, it leans extremely into the Doom influence, but that is no bad thing. It does what it does especially well, and has some of the meatiest weapons and the wettest gore, the sound design is impeccable. Highly recommended!

This guy's whole talk rubbed me the wrong way, like you're saying "I'm sick of playing Call of Duty every year" as if there isn't a thriving indie retro FPS scene? There's amazing FPS games coming out the wazoo, from some extremely talented developers, it's quite frankly never been a better time.

Generative AIs are useful in exactly one scenario: where a thing existing is more important than it being correct or good.
The number of scenarios like that are vanishingly small - marketing/engagement slop (AI's primary purpose right now), temp art for a prototype, that sort of thing.

There are a lot of critiques of LLMs that I agree with but "they suck and aren't useful" doesn't really hold water.
I understand people not using them because of social, economic, and environmental concerns. And I also understand people using them because they can be very useful.
