Not only did Brexit not provide any extra money for the NHS - as liar-in-chief Boris Johnson promised - but Brexit is impoverishing the UK each year by an amount of money not far off the annual NHS budget.

That shouldn't be a surprise. Obviously all that tax pays for something. And DNK/FRA have considerably higher overall tax than the UK.

There's a lot in this chart. Would love to see the equivalent for e.g. France or Denmark.

I expect we'd see: less tax on median earner. More tax on top decile. More welfare and benefit-in-kind at the higher deciles.

It's true, we'll see if there are any tax hikes for banks in the budget or not tomorrow. But the Treasury has been leaking like a sieve & some things are much more locked on than earlier kite-flying (to mix metaphors). This is via the Financial Times which has proven fairly reliable on this stuff.
