I feel like I'm going crazy, Trump just said mean words, he never did sanctions or touched arms transfers or money. It's the exact same plan as Biden did and the only difference is Israel is okay with Trump looking good and did not want Biden to look good

It's clear that when the US wants a ceasefire deal, one miraculously occurs. Makes the "working tirelessly for a ceasefire" stuff from last year even more disgusting.

Very strange to see the President share the same opinions of the median idiot conservative in this state but I guess it shouldn’t be

The President of the United States is calling for the mayor of Chicago and governor of Illinois to be jailed.

Remember earlier this year when bitchmade losers were telling everyone to win the national guard in LA over by bringing them sleeping bags, hot food, putting their rifles straight in their mouths, etc

Texas sending us fat national
Guard members is an intentional strategy to make the local populace more friendly and accommodating

Which, gotta say, really surreal and nice thing to be able to say even if it’s disappointing that we can’t have yet another person running that wants to at minimum condition weapons

You can tell Hoan Huynh’s congressional race isn’t serious because he isn’t in favor of an Israeli arms embargo and has zero reason to be ideologically committed to supporting that country

Watching the Sox last year was painful but at least it was entertaining seeing them metaphorically shoot themselves in the foot in a different way every game/root for them to avoid earning the “Worst Team Ever” title. The Cubs is just like having a really bland dinner that doesn’t fill you up
marxuckerberg.bsky.social
The Cubs are so frustrating because it’s not like they’re bad but they clearly aren’t Good. Their bullpen sucks ass, hitting is wildly inconsistent, but despite all of that they’re still good enough to have made it to the Wild Card but also they’re not good enough to be a real series contender

I guess I shouldn't be *surprised* but it is making my head spin that the feds have shot two people, with live rounds, killing one of them, in Chicagoland in recent weeks, and in both cases they were very clearly found to be lying about what happened, and essentially nothing is happening about it.

This really makes it sound like a Border Patrol agent tried to kill an anti-ICE activist in Chicago and DHS lied to cover for him

Mallory McMorrow said she will not take AIPAC support and called the war on Gaza a genocide for the first time at an event in Allegan, Michigan yesterday.

The single biggest issue right now is whether an apartment complex will go up in my neighborhood in 15 years, and the fact that I have not been adequately listened to is the biggest single injustice that any level of government has imposed on anyone in 2025 America

There’s also the question of how compatible capitalism is with democracy, but when they’re making dumb inconsistent arguments about who the org’s friends are I just assume they aren’t smart enough to discuss that anyway
marxuckerberg.bsky.social
Even the ones that aren’t don’t tell DSA what to do, our membership in the asap Paulo forum is basically just a commitment to talk to each other

Israel practices apartheid and both major political parties support it to the hilt. They also largely are friendly with authoritarian regimes like the Saudi government. Does that mean that America doesn’t value democracy? I think that logic tracks, but the authors would probably disagree!
marxuckerberg.bsky.social
Some real faulty logic in the article. DSA is not democratic because it (barely) affiliates with communist parties in Latin America. It also is critical of Israel, which is a sign that the org doesn’t value democracy even though Israel isn’t one

It's been 8 years since DSA committed to BDS and nearly 2 years since DSA called for a permanent ceasefire following the Oct. 7 attack on Israel, and former DSA members are still publicly lamenting how the organization is too pro-Palestine: www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/202...
