NYC's ballot has three proposals that directly tackle our city’s biggest issue: housing.

But the City Council's concern with keeping their power has them electioneering against them.

Their priority should be addressing the housing crisis—not protecting their own interests

Oh wow, this looks stunning.

Kudos to the people at MTA for this concept.

Can't wait to get out there!

But it's actually not the same service: Metro-North gave Yankee Stadium more than 10 times the amount of special game-day service than Met fans enjoyed on the LIRR, the data shows.

And the difference is in the labor agreements for the two commuter railroads.

An old work rule means that the MTA would have to pay millions of dollars just to provide a little extra service after special events like Mets games or the Ryder Cup.

The NYC Charter changes on ballots this November could help change that. Prop 3 provides a quicker path to approval for buildings under 45 ft — exactly the kind of mid-size buildings these rezonings have made extinct.

@yesonaffhousing.bsky.social
VOTE YES ON PROPS 2, 3, 4, AND 5 BY TUESDAY NOVEMBER 4TH

Prop 2 - Fast Tracks Affordable Housing: Creates a simpler and faster approval process for publicly funded affordable housing and speeds up affordable housing
approvals in neighborhoods that haven't built enough affordable homes.

Prop 3 - Simplifies Review of Modest Housing and Infrastructure Projects: This would exempt modest housing and climate resiliency projects - solar arrays, backyard accessory dwelling units (ADUs), and new buildings under 45 feet in
height - from lengthy, costly, and unnecessary reviews.

Prop 4 -Establishes a Land Use Appeals Board: Preserves local community voices and City Council authority in land use decisions while ensuring that broader housing needs can also be considered by a new appeals board that has
the power to review Council decisions.

Prop 5 - Modernizes the City Map: Replaces the 8,000 outdated paper maps with a unified digital system, reducing the long reviews for housing and infrastructure projects.

ICE agents who break down doors...could be arrested for burglary or breaking and entering under state laws. Having states aggressively enforce their own laws against individual agents and doing their best to not have them released on bail changes the incentive structure for wanting to work for ICE.
mathzorro.bsky.social
Make this happen ASAP:

"Suppose that when an ICE [arrests] someone, state and local officials demand to see their [ID & warrant. If not, say:] 'Since you are not working for the [feds...], I have to assume you are trying to kidnap someone. Kidnapping is a state crime. You are under arrest.' "
Newsom Understands the Incentive Structure

I just re-designed my website away from Wordpress so that I could more easily embed 3D objects, Javascript, and more.

Check out my first blog post that takes advantage of these new features, based on a Bluesky post that I made back in May.

Judge: You are an officer of the court. Do you think this is an appropriate way to deal with my order? Appropriate way of dealing with ruling you disagree with?

DOJ: Well, I'm not a policy maker

Judge: You're a lawyer

I like that you visualize who is in the penalty box; it currently doesn't catch my eye. I am wondering if there is a way to change the color of a person in the penalty box (gray?) or delineate the beginnings and ends of the time in the box (doors? haha) to convey it more distinctly? (Too busy?)

This is a declaration they will use federal resources to deploy violence against judges, prosecutors, and attorneys general. There's no other coherent interpretation of the phrasing, including "only remedy," "legitimate state power," and connecting those people with "terror networks."
Stephen Miller
@StephenM
The issue before is now is very simple and clear. There is a large and growing movement of leftwing terrorism in this country. It is well organized and funded. And it is shielded by far-left Democrat judges, prosecutors and attorneys general. The only remedy is to use legitimate state power to dismantle terrorism and terror networks.

If NYC used #RankedChoiceVoting in general elections as it does in primaries, Adams wouldn’t have been pushed to quit & voters could decide for themselves.

For some reason @mta.info there are five North-bound Q25 busses bunched up at Union Turnpike, which isn't far from its origin. Quite a sight to see. Maybe they were delayed inbound to Jamaica? Otherwise I see no reason for this occurrence.
