The only hope of uniting this country is in our shared hatred of health insurance companies. We should lean into that.

Can we just all remember that Hillary Clinton was President of the United States when Epstein was murdered in his cell? #Lockherup

Anyone else notice that the polls that the Times ranks as quality tend to have Trump underwater by double digits while all the others tend to have him underwater by single digits or above water?

Donald Trump would not be president today if not for political violence. The persistent threat—sometimes subtle, but increasingly overt—is his main tool for bringing the Republican Party to heel.

So Trump, the pacifist president, is seeking to provoke a civil war as he is easily goaded into a foreign one.

So we’ve got masked federal law enforcement agents who claim they don’t need to show badges or warrants, we’ve got all those stand your ground laws in red states, and we’ve got a nation swimming in deadly weapons. What could possibly go wrong? Make no mistake: provoking violence is the point.

Is it me, or did Trump’s parade look like it was produced by Wes Anderson? The glowering president, the strangely small-looking tanks making squeaky noises as they creep past empty bleachers. A staged, sad affair in which a grown man plays with his toys. I like the aesthetic but I doubt Trump does.

It’s about bodies. It’s about the infringement of reproductive rights. It’s about the suspension of habeas corpus. It’s about the denial of healthcare at home and abroad. It’s about whether we are free to be in the bodies we want and to love the bodies we choose. It’s about who controls our streets.

a new washington post / GMU poll finds trump 15 points net negative on immigration, soft disapproval of his handling of LA protests (with lots of don't knows).

the narrative that these protests are good for trump is not supported by data at this point. see: www.gelliottmorris.com/p/why-the-la...
