The President called the Governor of Minnesota "seriously retarded". His words, we cannot feel uncomfortable repeating for the purpose of shining a light on his awfulness.
November 29, 2025 at 2:16 AM
I heard on the news that the President "used an offensive slur to describe the Governor" If I hadn't looked up what he said I would have moved on with a shrug. We need the mainstream media to tell us the terrible things that the President says, describing his words with euphemisms doesn't cut it.
A note on SaneWashing: I read part of this post to family (all liberal Democrats who consume a lot of news, but not social media), and it blew their mind. They all thought it was parody: if Corporate Media did not SaneWash, it would shock US, his approval would plummet from low (30s) to lower(20s).

We need to stop telling the electorate that bipartisanship is the way to get things done. On nearly every issue where normal people agree, Dems would say yes and Republicans would say no. If you want that stuff vote for Dems.

If/when ACA subsidy extension passes with a few GOP defectors can we please refrain from calling the effort “Bi-partisan”? The GOP wants healthcare to be unaffordable/inaccessible to the middle class full stop.
Now you know the source of yesterday’s WH delay:

Johnson had “cautioned the White House that most House Republicans don’t have an appetite for extending enhanced Affordable Care Act subsidies ..”

I implore Dem pundits to let Trump kill the GOP’s primary narrative for 2026 without making a bunch of celebratory noise that will force a faster reversal. Please and thank you.

Our military officers swear an oath to the Constitution, NOT the President. Donald Trump is not king, and disobeying his illegal orders is patriotism not sedition.
It is abhorrent that the President just threatened death upon members of Congress.

We must condemn all threats of political violence, especially when they come from someone who has incited a violent attack on the Capitol.

Since the Democrats worked extra hard to hide who actually supported this, I think the No Kings/Resistance position should be to primary every Democrat unless they publicly call for Schumer's ouster this week

Either they go into total rebellion mode, which they won't, or the people will

Chuck Schumer must be replaced as Leader. The people spoke on Tuesday, they demand a Democratic opposition to Trump and his MAGA GOP, the capitulation today on funding the government is Schumer's failure. Enough if enough. We demand fighters.

Expel the yes votes from the party and cut off all their access to fundraising, then remove Schumer from leadership. Anything less is mealy-mouthed coward bullshit.
As this vote moves to the House, I stand with Democratic leadership as they refuse to rubber stamp the full-scale Republican assault on Americans’ health care and I am proud of the majority of Senate Democrats who opposed this vote.

Any deal that counts on GOP being good faith partners in governance misunderstands the modern Republican Party. Idiotic and out of touch!

5 days ago voters swarmed the polls and voted for anyone with a D next to their name to rebuke Trump and GOP abuses. Tonight, a group of Senate Dems told those voters to fuck off. Opposite of good politics.

Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.

The speaker should check out county/municipal races is “red” townships and counties. Start with Cumberland County PA. This wave was deep.
Mike Johnson: "What happened last night is blue states and blue cities voted blue. We all saw that coming. And no one should read too much into last night's election results."

This wave election extended all the way down to the municipal level, in my county we won countywide races, swept municipal races and won seats Dems haven’t held in decades.

i want to repeat this: mamdani and spanberger have run similar campaigns tailored to their respective electorates and it is maddening to watch political journalists attempt to create some broad contrast where none exist
the other thing about this is that there is no reason to pit these candidates against each other? each are good fits for their respective electorates and each shows the value of vigorous campaigns focused on the stated material problems of voters.
