that's so upsetting.. i'm not sure what frame of mind one has to be in to simultaneously defend the sanctity of one's process while also putting out music that anyone could recreate w the same tools in 5 minutes

what really bothers me is the language he's using to talk about it. it's one thing to use AI and stand by it as a form of expression (i have issues w that, but at least the artist is honest), it's another to use language to imply you didn't and try and defend your right to cover it up

basically the united states has hedged one gigantic bet on a technology which -requires- the betrayal of all artist and intellectual property law. the arts are so worthless that they can bring down the whole thing. make it make sense.

I do find it hilarious how they immediately backtracked after this and deleted the comment

a member of bluesky saying "Yeh" in response to the above post, with a journalist responding asking to get their exact quote over the thread in which the bluesky member responds with "what" and the journalist then rephrasing the question only for the bluesky member to delete the entire thread
