Streets are still closed off in front of the Portland ICE facility at 8:30pm. Protesters have gathered on a side street. Dance party in progress.

Honey, Harmony Holiday knows how to start a book review, listen: "James Baldwin fell in love too easily, & we are the victors feeding on the spoils of his dysfunctional longings as they mingle with his use of language in the service of divine justice."🔥🔥🔥(in the new issue of @bookforum.bsky.social)

Honey, this book is a portal, a siren call, a slapstick comedy, a history lesson, a camp chronology, a porn satire, California dreaming, queenly craving, and high school meets bathhouse in the ruins of desire's vortex, thanks to @marcossgonsalez.bsky.social for the recommendation 👠🔥
Bathhouse.pptx by Jesus I. Valles, shiny red cover featuring a glory hole surrounded by duct tape, book title in the black hole

Just in case someone missed this detail:
Wells Fargo used the ICE orks to clear out a building of lawful residents to make a buck

Again, a military terror purge was carried out with naked children in handcuffs for the benefit of Wells Fargo execs

A corrupt corp that will bleat at any reciprocity

Well, it's October 7th, so it looks like a few people have their Christmas lights out already... Is Christmas happening earlier this year?

This is correct. Every year from age 0-5 is really 3 years, ages 5-10 are 2 years, 10-20 is the only time when time works correctly, & after that each decade is a year, except for 2020-2025 which has simultaneously been a long 3 weeks & also a lifetime & also maybe just one bad night of nightmares

Honey, don't even tell me that 2005 was 20 years ago, that's just not possible. That would mean that 1995 was 30 years ago, and obviously that's absurd. Of course, 1985 was 40 years ago, that's just obvious.

Or, okay, if you stand right under a street light and look up, then you can stare right at her, yes, isn't she gorgeous

Honey, the moon is so bright tonight it's hard to look right at her, but if you look just a little to the side then there she is, stunning us all, as usual

“And the whole world knows that this did not start on October 7, 2023. And these Israeli war crimes have happened with impunity, and with help and ‘legitimization’ from our governments, institutions, and media… Do not let me and the other volunteers on the flotilla be a distraction.”💥

AN ESSAY ON ONTOLOGICAL
PRAGMATISM

It is bitterly cold outside. The kitchen is cold. I thank the kettle. I thank the toaster. I thank the skillet. I thank the cutting board. I thank the knife. I thank the butter. I thank the water. I thank the raspberry jam. I thank the tea towel. I thank the coffee grounds I put into the compost tin. I thank the orange. I thank the orange peel. I thank the old round table. I thank the plate, the cup. The fork, the spoon. The small bowl of milk. The kitchen windows have ice. I must get window curtains. If you lean over the sink and look out the window at the far end of the street you see a pink aura announcing the sun’s arrival. I pick the cat's bowl up to clean it. I reach the cat food down from the cupboard. I thank the cat food and the cat bowl. The floor is dirty. It needs washing. I thank the floor.

Oh that's hilarious but that's not the term I remember🌺
mbsycamore.bsky.social
Does anyone remember this term from the beginning of the pandemic to describe feeling horrible all day & then you end up staying up too late because you’re trying to get to a place where you’re feeling kind of okay, and then the staying up too late feeds the whole pattern? Anyway, that’s where I am.

Diana's Trees by Elizabeth Willis.
DIANA'S TREES

Silvery measures are being cut down, tricked by sun to slaughter.

My elm won't even let me break a sweat, something to believe by or just forget the dream, a fiery underlife, my score. My part becomes a piece of glass, a hand outside, against the one inside it. Make that ship you're thinking of a ship already, so I'll find it, in the water, in the sun.
