I had assumed after senate democrats publicly conspired to destroy any leverage they had by voting to pass Trump's godawful bill to reopen the government, I would finally stop having to hear about how they are brave and good and will save us all, but it appears that is not the case

This is, genuinely, one of the funniest things a government official has ever said. Air travel sucks because of capitalism but we should make the experience better for ourselves by, uh, being even more uncomfortable.
