Whenever I see doom-posts on here lamenting how all is lost before Trump is even sworn in, I think of this image, taken in February 2022 right after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine began. Russia thought they’d take the country in 3 days. It’s been nearly 3 years and they’re no closer. Buck up people.

They are, and the consequences are extremely dire, but that pales in comparison to the much bigger problem: we don't have a legitimate president of the United States right now. What we are to make of his enablers and supporters who have thereby also delegitimized themselves is a secondary problem.

No “stare decisis,” no “balls and strikes,” no “chipping away,” from Citizens United through Trump v. US, the word needs to be “overruled.”

We’re at the point where yes, the rulings are still “legally binding,” but their precedential worth is the cost of a roll of toilet paper. Our expanded Court should have no hesitation in tossing the Roberts Court’s body of work in the trash can at first opportunity.

It feels like Pritzker is de facto the leader of the opposition now in the same way Trump was under Biden. A lot is due to circumstances and there's certainly some wishful thinking on my part too, but it feels nice to have someone in the arena.

Idk man, I too think there are way more important things to take stands on than premium subsidies, but I also think they’re doing pretty well on the shutdown and it’s breaking through more than I thought it would. Since we are where we are, I’m pleasantly surprised with how they’ve handled it.

I went to Jersey Mike’s today and it was slow, so the clerk asked me what I did. I said I was a health care lawyer and he said “things aren’t looking good for health care next year are they?’ I said “no, no they aren’t.” I realize I’m going Tom Friedman with this, but this stuff is breaking through
