@mcgiro.bsky.social and I are doing a demon slayer re-watch to prep for Infinity Castle. It’s one of my favorite anime hands down because it’s got a lot of what I love in Magical Girl anime.

There are too many things to scream about right now, but I CANNOT SCREAM LOUDLY ENOUGH ABOUT THIS ONE.

- I’ve been a 1st time parent, newly learning everything (“Babies don’t sleep w/ blankets & can die by them?”)
- I work with parents of kids who died for lack of safe sleep practices.

So. AWFUL.

When the sleeve spontaneously falls down a cup, I feel a physical twinge of *embarassment* for the cup.

Feels like the cup’s pants just fell down. 😑 Poor dude.

Never more aware of the structural capitalistic components of self care than now…

as I prepare to give a presentation on self-care skills, while wishing I had enough sick time to be home instead.

1. If you are not silly, it is vital you become silly

2. If you are silly, you must stay silly

2. If you used to be silly but have stopped, you must make all efforts to return to silliness

1st Time Parenting in the internet era is like:
“Google, should I give my baby a banana?”

“100% certain, if you don’t give your baby a banana, you are a Terrible Parent.”

Rough day to be a helping professional b/c my patients want to talk about the same world events that are stressing me out.

For Context:
I’m a pediatric chaplain talking to parents.
That means their kid is the hospital and this country is *stillI* the top-of-the-mind stressor they need support on.

The names of software I use by working in a hospital are BONKERS to me as a nerd.

The most obvious: medical data management is called EPIC.

Walking down a beige hallway, an 8.5x11 page taped to a grey door:

“EPIC TRAINING INSIDE”

Tragic that I can’t learn magic or kung fu in that room!

I’m finding my apps a lot to metabolize, cope with, act on, etc.
& this content is 100% right on.

& also I want to use them to share things that bring me joy.
& maybe they will for you,
& then we’ll have connected a little.

So here’s an angry banger I vibe with today:

At a Mexican food place, just watched a man order
“a veggie bowl plus steak three times.”
*unintelligble, questioning response*
“Yeah, veggies but with 3 times the steak.”

To top it off, the veggie bowl cost $11.
The steak? $5 each.
This bowl cost $26.

Like, I don't know if people realize how corrupt it is to bring in a bunch of tech bosses for the stated purpose of slashing the size of the agencies that regulate them.
When I meet an FDA person at a conference, I can't even buy them a cup of coffee.

And these guys walk right in, obtain access to government information and get to make restructuring proposals?

It's insane.

Our justice system is broken beyond the right to use that name.
Felony conviction and zero punishment beyond that he’s…

A felon who can’t vote but he can be president, & can’t own a gun in some states or usually join the military, but he’s commander in chief.

Broken.

“In order to shoot off one email per week for a year, ChatGPT would use up 27 liters of water, or about one-and-a-half jugs… that means if one in 10 U.S. residents—16 million people—asked ChatGPT to write an email a week, it’d cost more than 435 million liters of water.”
AI doesn’t just require tons of electric power. It also guzzles enormous sums of water.
