When someone tells you children’s programming in their day was nonpolitical, they are really saying they weren’t a very bright child.

I’ve never seen a big thread like this that is all dedicated to the absolute takedown of a person and how their legacy is just an illusion. If you got the time, check out this thread about John Lasseter and his impact (or lack of) in the animation industry
Pixar Storytime #4 Part 1

One Door Closes, Another One Opens

To make doubly sure that the studio will become fresh and exciting again and that will have found memories of both the production of their films and the films themselves.

But going back into Pixar, with Pete Docter in charge, he’s going to make sure that everyone will have a chance to shine either at the small screen (aka, on Disney Plus) or on the big screen (In Theaters).

And speaking of which, can we stop saying that Disney’s making a full 2D feature again?

Because Disney themselves haven’t made the word yet and even with the teases from both CCO’s of Disney Animation and even Eric Goldberg, nothing’s confirmed yet.

Long story short, say what you will about how she ran at Disney, but let’s all agree that it’s miles better than what’s currently happening at Skydance Animation and that like Pixar in the 2020s, they’re still making original films despite getting started on making sequels.

As for Walt Disney Animation Studios, the CCO position was given to Jennifer Lee,
which she ran for 5 years until she stepped down the position to focus on Frozen 3 and 4 and was replaced by Jared Bush.

Part 2

Pete Docter

On June 19, 2018, Pete Docter, the director of such beloved films like Monsters Inc., Up, Inside Out, and then-upcoming film, Soul, became the new Chief Creative Officer of Pixar Animation Studios.

And lucky for him, he was able to fix the problems that Lasseter had caused.

Jee, I thought that the non-Disney animated film of the 90s are Disney wannabes.

And I wonder why Apple broke up with Skydance Animation in 2023, only to be picked up by Netflix immediately afterwards.

He didn’t get hired to be a creative visionary, he was hired because Skydance execs wanted him as a marketing tool, and again, thank the stubborn Ellison as to why John got hired days after he left Disney just so he can desperately uncancel John.

And sure, the results are the complete opposite of what Disney was hoping for, but at least they took the risk of trying something new.

And I guarantee you all that it’ll not be the last time that the house of mouse would be taking a risk of making something different.

And only them are allowed to make films under his belt and not the others that were fresh off of directing short films or have dreams of becoming a big name filmmaker at either Disney or Pixar.

And that’s another reason why both Disney and Pixar are better off without him.

He didn’t give the filmmakers that aren’t close friends with him a chance to make their own big name features.

In other words, John did not contribute to any sort of work that he did for Skydance, whatsoever.

All he did was hit the reset button on projects such as Luck and Spellbound, and then he calls it a day where he takes all of the fame from everyone in the form of false advertisement that calls him…

He rarely shows up in meetings. And even if he did, he would listen to what the creatives have to say about their progress about their work, but then he sleeps during the meeting, then he wakes up, and then give them notes on things he despises without giving it a chance.

Who even are you anyways? You just complain about Pixar for whatever situation they’re in and you made a YouTube about it just to make you famous.

And if you are that person…

Go touch some grass dude. You’re acting like Chicken Little when the sky is falling.

And if you actually complaining about the current situation at Pixar in the 2010s about too many sequels than originals and then in the 2020s, you complained about the quality of their films regardless that they are more originals than sequels…

It’s him.

Another reason why Lasseter isn’t the animation hero we thought we knew was because the same thing happened with the original visions for both Brave and The Good Dinosaur.

He keeps on meddling the production without the approval of Henry to the point that movie becomes a complete mess.
