Today's hobby progress, this is a test model to see if I like the scheme in person.
Little guy isn't finished yet, but he only needs a few details filling in and the carapace highlighting once the wash is dry.

I love when folks who read hard sci-fi forget that social sciences are also sciences and were often the most important area of exploration to the writers of their favorite classic sci-fi stories. Too often they're dazzled by technology but miss the probing of how society is changed by it.
