6. Look for news outlets close to the incident.
7. Compare multiple sources.
8. Big news brings out the fakers. And photoshoppers.
9. Beware reflexive retweeting, Some of this is on you.

As someone who grew up in purity culture in a evangelical church I see this as a ethics crisis, yes, but it seems to be that people are saying the primary issue here is that the people involved had sex, when to me the issue is that the source and the one investigating the source are unethical..
People will die, and are currently dying, because RFK was granted one of the most powerful megaphones in the country. Two people who could have thrown barriers in front of his climb decided not to; there's a sex scandal here but it is not the biggest scandal.

I remember during the first Trump term, one journalist was furious that I criticized individuals that sat on stories for their books. He basically called me dumb and naive. I hope he’s doing poorly now. Sigh
