Product guy whose main work is in media. Also love old cars (BMW, Saab, Subaru and all the others). British and Scandinavian police procedurals. Buffett and Pink Floyd.
Let me guess- he wants to protect the witch- burners?
For no reason at all I'm thinking of the MAGA guy in my town who wanted to change our zoning by-laws to "preserve the town's demographics."

Car dependency is expensive, yes, but living in a walkable/bikeable area well served by public transit is *also* really expensive. In order to free people from the financial stranglehold of car dependency, we need to make the alternative more affordable.

I know that intersection well. There’s a library a block away.
Coincidentally, I have another meeting this week about finally creating a bike/pedestrian committee in town. And the crosswalk where my wife nearly got hit is right outside our town hall. It's a horrendous intersection. She was crossing at the bottom of the screen where there is a right turn lane.

Went to Aldi today for the first time. Somewhat underwhelming experience. Shopping cart BS was expected, but no one could get the quarter to unlock carriage without insane amount of jiggling. Also, why don’t they put a change machine in the lobby in case someone didn’t have quarters?

Folks, this is why slow moving storms near Haiti and the DR can be so very dangerous. The mountains force air to rise rapidly and squeeze out copious moisture. The runoff often inundates villages. If this track verifies, it’s extremely dangerous. #Melissa

However [political parties] may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins…

Idiots.
Would never expect the USTA to acknowledge any protest but them going and asking broadcasters to censor it is a new low.

I’ve heard multiple reports of the USOPC telling NGBs to be scared of this administration to get them in line, and this seems to fit that pattern.
What the actual fuck.

US Tennis Association: “We ask all broadcasters to refrain from showcasing any disruptions or reactions in response to the President’s attendance in any capacity, including ENG [Electronic News Gathering] coverage.”

Yes!! Impatience, inattentiveness, etc. can *so* easily turn into violence. The mocking of bicyclists for caring about this is sick. Someone extremely close to me lost a beloved family member due to a careless, lazy, inattentive driver. I was there when they got the news; I’ll never, ever forget. 😣
In addition to "you're so entitled" I really hate how people tell bicyclists we're "overreacting" to the things that drivers do that aren't overtly hostile. I have ridden my bike long enough to know just how quickly impatience can turn into violence. I am well aware of how vulnerable I am.

Greta really about that fucking life and I ain't forgot how folks was saying she was just doing it for fame and views.
I know there was a lot going on in American politics today, but I wanted to take a moment to highlight how much I admire the work that Greta Thunberg and the Freedom Flotilla are doing.

They're sailing an aid ship across the Mediterranean to Gaza right now, despite lacking Israeli permission.

I have gotten confirmation from sources inside the Coast Guard that this is in fact true and happened in Key West.

ICE went into military housing and took the spouse of a USCG member who is currently out to sea.
🚨🚨🚨BREAKING NEWS: Was just passed this from a fellow service academy grad. A Coast Guard Academy graduate posted this. They are reporting that ICE entered base housing and took a USCG spouse. I can’t confirm this but I’m calling for answers from the Coast Guard and Congress. This is unacceptable.

More Dems need to follow Tim Walz’s lead. Especially those based in DC. Get out of the beltway. Listen to constituents. Go into red areas. Get out of the bubble.
