Toddler mum, field recording, music, reading, based in Romford
Listening to Alvin and the Chipmunks while Ben jumps around dissonantly on the very loud floor piano my mum got him for Christmas

It's a good job we both like weird music because it's weirdly tolerable

friendly reminder that you didn't waste your year. any moments of happiness or comfort. any small accomplishments, they all matter. this has been a really hard year, and simply surviving is something to be proud of.

Anyone else find that it's getting harder as you get older to identify an ear worm? I think there's too much music in there

#Upcoming Help kickstart a release of “Symphony No. 4” by Glenn Branca! This piece has never been released because there was never a good enough recording. A live performance from 1983 has been found featuring Glenn’s custom built Harmonic Series instruments. www.kickstarter.com/projects/reg...

Wondering why no one likes your posts anymore, even among your friends? It's because @jay.bsky.team and team have decided to hide a huge amount of content from all of our feeds by default.

Here's how to turn it off.

First go to the hamburger menu in the upper left corner

A little early, but would anyone like a Christmas card this year? (Like this and get on the list)

Japan's "Mundane Halloween" costume contest is back!

Each year website DailyPortalZ holds a contest where people dress up as something super duper ordinary.

Here's a thread of some of my favorites from the 2025 contest!

What 'proper' music does your 2 year old like listening to?

Ben's starting to object to some of our music so I'm looking for tips!

Everyone's dunking on this but I find it relatable. It's too easy to get stuck on how's the weather

V&A East Storehouse was surprisingly good fun for a toddler.
Glass walls (on all but one floor) kept him from causing trouble and he kept asking, "what's that?!"

This is finally working!
Continuing work on my Raspberry Pi (2b) Pure Data noise instrument. Such slow work. I spent about 2 hours today getting it to recognise a MIDI controller

It's amazing to see how our 2.5 yo copies behaviour.
He asked me "are you alright, mummy?" after I had a coughing fit
And then told me off for not eating at the table
