It's International #LesbianDay (8th October) and we hope that if you're a lesbian you're having a great day. Trans lesbians are lesbians. No amount of shouting about that from anyone can change that.
The Green Party logo - world with petals, with a white world, and the petals the colour of the lesbian flag.

Underneath, it reads: Happy International Lesbian Day from the LGBTIQA+ Greens.

I continue to tap the sign that if wait lists were this bad for literally anything else it would be a national scandal.

1,800 people and 5 say they're against, that's pretty much unanimous. You're just arguing about semantics... suppose though, expect no less from bigots.

I'm quite emotional. Not a single vote against in the room.

I am alarmed and upset by this emerging news of attacks at a synagogue on Yom Kippur.

The rise in religious hate crimes in this country is totally unacceptable - there is no excuse for antisemitism and no excuse for violence.

The Green Party proving once again that it will always stand with the trans community 🏳️‍⚧️

Political parties are not obliged to provide a platform to any organisation, regardless of their demands. This was the right decision.

I'll always defend politicians who just happen to be trans, regardless of their political colours or affiliation, when they are attacked by the media. An attack on one is an attack on all. The hate directed at @chrisn.xyz by the media is disgusting.

An attack on one of us is an attack on all of us.

A brief statement in solidarity with Liberal Democrat councillor Chris Northwood @chrisn.xyz
LGBTIQA+ Greens Logo, with a statement below that reads:

Our Green Party colleagues who have worked with Chris Northwood in various capacities have nothing but good things to say about her. So we are very glad to hear that the Liberal Democrats acknowledged her with their Patsy Calton Award.

We are disgusted by the Express article attacking Chris and the Liberal Democrats. The news media are once again choosing to attack a woman for winning an award, due to her being trans. Painting a target on her back to further their culture war on our community.

We are happy to see that the Liberal Democrats are standing by Chris and their decision to give her this award. We want to see all political parties refuse to bow down to the hate campaigns attacking individual trans people and our community.

We stand in solidarity with Chris Northwood and urge everyone to do the same.

There is no LGBTIQA+ without the B, and today we celebrate bisexuality on this Celebrate Bisexuality Day. We must take a stand against biphobia in all forms.
A Green Party logo, with bisexual petal colours.
A statement that reads: Happy Celebrate Bisexuality Day.

Every year on the 23rd September, we mark Celebrate Bisexuality Day with the amazing people within our communities who are bisexual. Days like this serve as a reminder that we must keep fighting against biphobia: socially and institutionally.

This especially comes as the UK has seen a rise in rhetoric from the political far-right against queer identities, and where the United Kingdom has slipped dramatically in the ILGA Europe rankings for LGBTIQA+ rights. An attack on one, is an attack on all.

Whether you are closeted, questioning, or loud and proud: we see you, we hear you, we celebrate you. You are valid.

Whether they're blaming vaccines and Tylenol, or selling dubious "remedies," what they're really doing is promoting the perception that families (and especially mothers) can prevent and treat Autism. And thus also the perception that people with Autism and their families don't need social support.

Your 2025/26 North East Young Greens Co-Chairs! Our Co-Chairs’ goals this year are to make the regional Young Greens more active.

We have co-option spots available on our committee - please reach out to know more. Our email is [email protected]

Also, join us! join.greenparty.org.uk
A photo of our two co-chairs on Millenium Bridge in Gateshead. Melissa on the left, Darius on the right. Below this, it says "Melissa Harker & Darius Seago: North East Young Greens Co-Chairs" A statement from Melissa: I can't wait to get started as a Co-Chair of the North East Young Greens! It's upsetting to see that the regional Young Greens has been inactive by in large for the last couple years, so I hope to use the limited time that I have within the Young Greens to really kick the regional Young Greens into life, and try and get young people in the region excited to be part of the committee next year. I am hoping to use some of the experience I have in my local party of Gateshead and nationally with committees in the senior party to help in this endeavour. Melissa signs off her statement, and she uses she/they pronouns. A statement from Darius: I'm very happy to have been re-elected for another term. As some of you may know, I'm very keen to be involved with all your Young Green local election campaigns; and this will continue into my second term. Best part of my first term was getting the North East Young Greens active again and the election of two brilliant Young Green councillors. Darius signs off his statement. He uses he/they pronouns.

The Green Party has taken great strides in being a liberatory space for trans people.

It must not allow organisations to bully us into having stalls at conference that are against our aims and makes people feel unsafe.

So a group of us have created a petition ✍️

The Being Intersex In The EU report..

'1 in 7 intersex respondents (15%) say that they had been physically or sexually attacked in the 12 months before the survey.'

What is the rate in the UK? What steps has UK Gov taken to ensure intersex people's safety post-Supreme Court decision? Does it care?

Today @fra.europa.eu released the report ‘Being Intersex in the EU’, highlighting the barriers intersex people continue to face in everyday life. While there is a long way to go to ensuring the full human rights of intersex people, this is an important step in the right direction!

This is thinly disguised homophobia by Farage.

The same far-right figures who have spent years coming for my trans friends & colleagues are emboldened again against anything different from their "normal."

Today and everyday I stand with the whole LGBTQIA+ community.

Your struggle is my struggle.

Nigel Farage:

"Children who have two stable parents have a better chance in life... The most stable relationships, the ones that last the longest, tend to be between men & women... There's an awful lot of kids in the country not getting the kind of start... they deserve."

Only last week our government were denying this reality and continue to sell arms to Netanyahu's genocidal regime.

As a trans woman in Britain, I have seen how the rhetoric Kirk spread in the US fuels the same hatred here.

When voices like his call for violence against us, it doesn't just stay across the Atlantic. It empowers the same far-right culture putting people like me in danger every day.
melissa.green
Political violence is abhorrent. But let's not kid ourselves: Charlie Kirk and people like him have glorified political violence for years.

His family have lost someone they love. But he was taken by the same hateful politics he pushed onto others. It's no tragedy - it's a red flag.

It was great to see Greens in Bristol not give any air to transphobes who seek to spout vile nonsense at any opportunity they can get. Good on them.
