Hi new n old followers or anyone that may see my posts.
Please note most my Bonsai are still new or young so I'm kind of sharing the development story from early on.
There are many more advanced out there mine are humble hobby level.
Mostly follow best practices as I understand them. I like forests.
Chamiecyparis pisifera bonsai forest in a dark blue oval pot with moss covered soil surface and rock landscape. Liquidamber bonsai forests in 3 scales each in dark earth coloured bonsai pots. Moss covers the soil surface of each group. All 3 are shown as a combined forest on a timber deck. Sequoia bonsai in a dark earth coloured and rectangular bonsai pot.

This is where bonsai comes in handy. I don't know anything about rugby or other sports anymore, so I just start talking bonsai. If they stay to talk, then bonus and we deflect to bonsai if they get bored and cut talk short ..also a win.

The Hamilton Bonsai Club 2025 Show is on this weekend.

I'm planning to go on Saturday morning and will make a day of it.
It's held at the Hamilton Gardens, so there's plenty to look at along with a nice café.

Cheers
Today felt like being that kid in a playground wanting to get on the merry-go-round but no one slows it down for them to get on.
But at least it's Bonsai forest Friday tomorrow
European oak bonsai in training planted in a blue oval pot with moss covered soil surface and a fern to the left of the trees base. To the right a coffee mug of blue green colour with black horizontal stripes.

I’ll say this as many times as it needs to be said, but socialism is not anarchism; the left is neither an org nor a movement; and left-right distinctions are only useful as shorthand for clarifying assumptions and intellectual tendencies

New — I was fortunate to speak in front of students and faculty at Grinnell College in Iowa tonight about the business of independent journalism, the current state of media under Trump 2.0, and billionaire control.

I published my full speech because I thought it might resonate beyond campus:
Truth, morality and independence in journalism under the second Trump regime
My full remarks to students and faculty at Grennell College.

Andrew Hoggard says he will allow cancer-linked glyphosate to be increased by 100 x in our food production.

He's also ignored a High Court order telling farmers to remove cruel farming practices around pigs - extending the 2025 due date out by 10 years. This is ACT #nzpol #kiwi

It's still not too late to make a difference for Ruapehu.

If you not registered or need to make a special vote coz the dog ate your voting papers, YOU need to get to the council office by 4pm on Friday.

Be the vote that makes the difference...

GOOD NEWS ALERT 🚨

Today the government relented to pressure from the @livingwageaotearoa.bsky.social and retained the requirement for contracted workers to be paid at least the Living Wage rate in Government Contracts. Around 5,000 workers will likely benefit from this decision

We had so much fun in Direct Action! class today with Joel Bellman!

Thanks to Joel for coming along and talking about his work reporting on Lyndon LaRouche and his movement--and the days when Nixon was as bad as anyone could imagine. 😱

October Glory is an apt name for these maples, showing off their red splendor at the nursery! #trees
The image shows a group of young trees with brilliant red and orange autumn foliage, likely **red maples (Acer rubrum)** or a similar species known for vivid fall color. The trees are **balled and burlapped**, meaning their root systems are wrapped in burlap and tied for transport or planting. They are lined up neatly in a **nursery or tree farm**, set in rows on a sandy, slightly muddy ground. A drip irrigation line runs along the soil, indicating the trees are being maintained before being sold or transplanted. The sky above is overcast, creating a soft, diffused light that enhances the rich fall colors.

to all the Labour mps on here can you tell your leader we need a commitment to reverse the Jobseekers policy that National has just introduced. Thats not giving your policy away that is exercising basic humanity and getting rid of very poorly formulated policy. Just say it. Come on.
