This is very concerning. We hope the cyclist is ok and that the driver stopped. The volume of vehicles on residential streets is very high in this area. And many drivers don't give way at junctions, creating risks for pedestrians including school children, cyclists and everyone else...

Saw a cyclist get hit by a driver incorrectly taking priority at the junction of Viewforth and Bruntsfield Place this morning.

This junction is a nightmare due to drivers parking at it and Viewforth can't handle bidirectional traffic.

Previous efforts with local govt have told me it's fine. So..

🛑 Doesn't a stop sign mean drivers need to stop and give way to pedestrians? The usual morning scene at Merchiston ave/Granville terrace.

The Council has proposed new designs for the entire Polwarth roundabout junction. Will they improve safety? Have your say!

The Union a canal both sides of Viewforth Bridge.
A canal with barges lined up on the right. High rise flats are in the background, with people walking along the old towpath on the left. More canal boats as we look west. Modern apartment blocks line both sides of the river. The new school and modernised towpath lie on the right, with cyclists and walkers frequenting the path.

This map shows demand for secure cycle hangars in Edinburgh, with plenty of bubbles over #Bruntsfield, #Merchiston, #Polwarth & #Shandon. We've long encouraged residents to request cycle hangars and signal demand to @edinburghcouncil.bsky.social - we hope they will soon get the message!

There's now a shiny new litter bin at the bus stop at Polwarth Parish Church!

The much-used litter bin had been removed without warning, creating unsightly accumulations of litter all over the pavement. Thank you Cllr Neil Ross for pushing for a replacement!

Poorly placed roadworks signs yet again obstructing people trying to get to school and work this morning.

On both sides of Granville Terrace between Merchiston Ave and Viewforth Terrace.

We've reached out to Edinhelp on the other place to report this...
