That’s a wrap on PAX Unplugged! I got to be on my first panel ever alongside the insightful @raquelskellington.bsky.social and the impressive @mattstormcrow.bsky.social (plus Armani Marquez-Chaves, who doesn’t have Bluesky), moderated by the spectacular @merrittworthy.bsky.social . Thanks all!

You ever just throw up in the bushes outside your own house?

Paid down my credit cards this week... aside from a few pending charges I'm once again *debt free*

Don't look at my student loans... we don't need to talk about that

Tired of seeing "masc renfaire looks" and all they've done is switch their skirt for pants.

Eternally grateful that heating pads exist. 😵‍💫

If you're going to try to bully the person behind you in line at a cafeteria, maybe make they aren't an employee of the school you're attending.

My crankiest belief is that we are now being sold on solutions to problems which only exist because we've let others convince us they exist. That is what "innovation" seems to be in 2025.

There's a level of introspection that's just not happening these days re: what actually needs to bother us.

Hey @hankgreen.bsky.social why did dear Hank and John stop getting uploaded to YouTube?

I'm trying to leave spotify but the last episode of the pod is from 2018!

Three more days until StoryGraph's #JanuaryPagesChallenge is over.

Very proud of myself for sticking it out, even if a few says had about 5 minutes total of reading.

Just give me another animated show to watch onto... or pick a new series to mess with. I don't need another half baked like action of the same 3 characters.

One thing before tomorrow:

Use your local libraries.

Get your card.

Borrow books, manga, films, audios, ebooks.

Recommend titles for purchase (usually online).

Attend promoted activities.

Fill out those "How are we doing?" questionnaires.

Tell your kids that libraries are good.

They are.

As the U.S. shifts into a volatile political landscape targeting critical thinking, I want to share an important reminder to the #booksky community:

The only way to preserve literature is by collecting physical copies.

I know, Kindle users, it sucks—but your digital copy can be deleted any time.

Be weary of ppl so scared they do not fact check and cause more panic and misinformation for themselves and others. Whether out of fear or for views. Most of us crumble when in a panic or make the worst decision. Feel your emotions, we have things to fight.

Weird that we have to say this, but the government doesn’t get to decide what gender a person is.

I've spent a lot of time reading ARCs this week to preoccupy myself instead of thinking about how my job is going to change in the face of this TikTok news... and I guess it was a good thing because one of my reviews is being featured by a publisher now.

Thank you so much to all 100,000+ followers I had on TikTok for sticking it out with me.

You all enabled me to make weird art and do so much with my career. I literally wouldn't be where I am now without that.

I have so many thoughts on this whole TikTok situation but I'm going to take some time off Social media to adjust before I come back to talk about any of it.

Maybe reposting old TikToks on Bluesky is the new TikTok.

RIP TikTok. The ultimate example of the olds not getting it.

It is especially ironic that we're freaking out about a foreign owned social network when we're letting untrustworthy figures straight through the door over here

I think it is important for freedom of assembly to apply to the places where people assemble.
I miss the days when people didn't consider having a social media account a first amendment right. Funny how attitudes changed when people discovered they could monetize these things innit

So Bookish community tell me ... which ball got slammed for not having IP rights and started this chaos?

Torn between the urge to be a completionist and log every book/movie I've ever read, and wanting to only accurately reflect the right editions and dates read (maybe remove any log from books I read before booktube).
