2025 is an active fire season in Canada with 4.2 M ha burned, 401 active fires and more importantly 166 of those 401 fires are out of control. Lightning season is kicking into gear in Canada so expect more fires and more fire growth with hot, dry and windy conditions coming in the next few weeks.

Got to see a trial of a plantMax machine today, one of 12 in the world, this one the only one with a ponsse forwarder chassis.

Human planters will always be the preferred method of planting trees, but this was an awesome opportunity to see new innovations in the forestry industry. #forestry #trees

Found out that this old Jack pine plantation the burned in the summer of 2023 in Northern Ontario, contributed to the super smoky conditions in DC that I had experienced two years prior.

Funny little full circle moment where I was on the receiving end of the smoke and now I’m here replanting it!

Found a super random piece of home in a New Brunswick value village! Super cool cave system I visited a while ago in Northern Virginia, some of the most stunning stalactites and stalagmites you’ll ever see.

Today is World Water Day. Yesterday was International Day of Forests. Forests and water are intimately related. Trees require abundant water. Rivers that provide our water require forests. Today, let's thank our forests and our rivers. Tomorrow and every day, let's work to preserve them.

A good visual representation of the effects of tariffs where I am. All of the American alcohol taken off the shelves at NB Liquor.

Quite the harvest from the Hydroponics club here on campus. These baskets go to professors who made a donation to the club, four giant cucumbers grew over the break and turned out quite well.

Did some property boundary checking the other day. Turns out 2 feet of snow accumulation makes it at tad difficult to find the corner posts

If you worked for 18F and got fired, Group together to start a consulting company.

It’s just a matter of time before DOGE needs you to fix the mess they inevitably create.

They will have to hire your company as a contractor to fix it. But on your terms.

I’m happy to invest and/or help

California's mountain towns crushed as Trump guts Forest Service
Calif. mountain towns are surrounded by public lands. They're already dealing with the fallout of cuts to the U.S. Forest Service and land management agencies.

A snapshot from a recent class trip to one of AV Nackawick’s operations in New Brunswick. This was part of a Forest Operations course I was taking, super cool to see how Forest ops are conducted in the Acadian forest compared to the Boreal!

Report writing, specifically in STEM related fields always has me wondering, why didn’t I start writing this earlier? 🥲

11 years ago, Ukrainians stood up to defend their European dream. For three months, under rain and snow, they refused to bow to putin’s will.

Just take 19 seconds to listen to this man’s pledge of allegiance to freedom.
