A decade ago, when Trump one the first time, I and other Black writers tried to make us see that racism — both explicit and deeply seeded — was at the root of Trump’s rise. We were dismissed even as late as last year as people attributed economic anxieties to Trump’s wins.
DO YOU BELIEVE US NOW?

Tillis is spot on. The Senate can't confirm a Trump toady to succeed Powell at the Fed. The rest of the game is now out in the open, and it doesn't end well.

i haven’t watched much NFL this year - until yesterday. This #BUFvsJAX is pretty good, BUT has Tony Romo been this bad all year? Oof
Tony Romo just said he thinks whoever wins this game has a shot at going to the Super Bowl which is in fact how the postseason is structured

Not a novel observation, obviously, but these guys sincerely love to threaten and put their hands on women.
A woman recording an ICE agent tells him "Shame on you."

The agent responds, "Have you all not learned from the past couple of days?"

"Learned what?" she asks

Then he knocks her phone out of her hand

At what point are other nations going to retaliate against US by treating US citizen travelers the same way our government treats them?

EU asks for 5 years of social media history before entry for all US citizens?
Citizens of countries including the UK and France will have to disclose the past five years of their social media history to visit the US even though they are covered by visa waiver schemes, under new proposals by the Trump administration.

US to require social media disclosure for visa-waiver requests
Change would affect visitors from countries including the UK, France and Australia

This world cup is going to be a disaster
This is almost exactly what my friend said! "I'm here because I have no choice; nobody else I work with wanted to come here."

We were quizzed on our jobs and incomes, our status as self-employed people, our families back home, and asked to show evidence of how we'd support ourselves for 5 weeks.

Support from Trump administration officials played a crucial role in the release of Andrew Tate from Romania, where he is accused of rape and coercing women into pornography, a New York Times investigation found.
How Andrew Tate, Manosphere Star Accused of Rape and Trafficking, Was Freed
Barred from leaving Romania, Andrew Tate courted powerful figures on the American right, from Tucker Carlson to Barron Trump. Then an extraordinary order let him go.

it’s pretty funny that Duffy is simultaneously

1. scolding passengers for not wearing fancy clothes while flying

2. supporting airport gyms so passengers can be sweaty and gross while flying

both of these proposals are idiotic but the direct contradiction is next level
Duffy on what he's doing to improve the airport experience for travelers: "Maybe I want a workout area where people might get some blood flowing doing some pull ups or step ups in the airport."
