It’s possible and common for scam websites to trick people into giving away their password and 2FA code. Passkeys aren’t vulnerable to this kind of attack (the same way that security keys aren’t). If phishing, password reuse, or weak passwords are in the threat model, passkeys provide value.

So I've been investigating and I cannot find any reasonable reason to use passkeys, they don't replace username/passwords and, as far as I can see, aren't more secure than just a username/password with MFA.

Does someone have another opinion? Everything I see suggests they are nothing special.

I'm still not sure why you need your phone unless you are referring to SMS codes. But I can receive those on my computer. There are also Timed One Time Passwords that don't require a second device. It all depends on what the second factor is.

TPD have released body cam footage up to the point he started to run. Said he was a suspect in taking a backpack from a car that allegedly had a loaded 9mm in it. When approached and asked for ID, pulled out a card from his pocket & crack rock fell out.
