This letter appeared in the Bloomsburg PA Press Enterprise this morning. I am assured the writer is who he purports to be, an Air Force veteran.

Brave individuals can get attention & make a difference. Someone should tell the Democrats.
Democrats Could Learn Something from Former NFL Punter Chris Kluwe
Chris Kluwe's strategic protest shows exactly what's missing from the current resistance to authoritarianism.

On Friday, I'm talking with @mateosfo.bsky.social about what I think is one of the core issues facing the climate movement, namely, housing. Yes, housing. It's not just a climate issue, it's arguably *the* climate issue in the US. We're going to make the case.

The quotes/comments questioning this have not thought hard about the realities of organizing. Houses of worship are critical community infrastructure and trusted sources, especially in the South and across many racial groups + immigrant communities. We need a strong relationship with faith to win.
I really don’t know if there can be a true resistance to this that isn’t aligned with faith / spirituality and the community of organized religion.

Martin and Malcolm— both faith leaders.

Fossil gas utilities should be looking to pivot to the business model described in this podcast: using their drilling tech to run networked water pipes that provide heat/cooling for neighborhoods via ground-source heat pumps.

Super efficient, cheaper, decarbonized, and grid supporting.
Today on Volts: thermal energy networks are the new hotness! Replacing fossil gas pipes & furnaces with water pipes & heat pumps was a niche idea not long ago. Now the first pilot is completed & dozens more are on the way. This is how natgas companies can survive: become thermal energy companies.
Thermal energy networks are the next big thing
Could gas utilities transform into "thermal utilities"? Here's how networked heat pumps could give them a whole new business model instead of going extinct.

This place is too cozy, so let me be a little provocative:

In the last 5 years or so, the climate movement had the opportunity to pivot away from No No No (fighting/blocking things) to Yes Yes Yes (supporting abundance, more RE, more housing, more building).

But ...
