Alex from our time working together, while he was in nursing school. Later, he moved to ICU, working as a nurse to support critically ill Veterans. He had such a great attitude. We’d chat between patients about trying to get in a mountain bike ride together. Will never happen now

@pwaldkirch.bsky.social started a Power Broker book club early in 2025. So we started then, and if you didn't read ahead, we read about 100 pages per month since then.

The regional nature of TransLink creates some interesting choices. That said, I am very interested to see how some of the claims of "most people who take the 99 aren't going all the way to UBC" pan out against the fact that Broadway will now be a significantly faster route to UBC, even without UBCx

I am committing to Childcare By Right. We will make childcare a permitted use in every residential and commercial zone. If you pass your safety and provincial licensing checks, you open. No hearings and no neighbor vetoes. We are building a city where families actually belong.

Fontaine moves an amendment to add "whereas increasing property taxes well above the rate of inflation significantly impacts small businesses"
😂

Last minute theatrics 🎆

And now the last item: the item that was added to the agenda at the very beginning of the meeting.

A resolution to submit to FCM that would: ask the government of Canada to increase loans for small businesses, and other measures to help small businesses thrive.
