A promotional photo from the original cast of the Canadian satirical news comedy series *This Hour Has 22 Minutes* (premiered 1993 on CBC), featuring four cast members seated at a curved black desk with subtle underlighting, wearing business attire (suits and ties for the men, a dark blazer for one woman and a gray suit for the other). The background is a modern broadcast set in dominant shades of blue and purple, with angled panels, circular light fixtures on the walls, built-in shelves, and a large illuminated world globe projection integrated into the rear wall.

we need a word for a type of person who spends all their time working to live in a city so they can be near cool things, but they don't actually like going out

We do not deploy American forces against Americans in our own cities.

Our military is not trained for domestic law enforcement.

It’s illegal and un-American.

The financial struggles plaguing our postsecondary education sector are not a sudden development, nor are they solely a result of federal changes to international student permit caps.

In March, Trump ordered the elimination of the Institute of Museum and Library Services, an independent agency that is the main source of federal funding for public libraries

No other president has shown as much contempt for libraries or their mission

The messages on the casings were video game references. @wsj.com & @theguardian.com & GOP leadership went with “trans ideology” instead.

I urge Dem leaders to denounce this over & over again. Denounce a rush to politicize an assassination and to attack a vulnerable minority. Keep it in the news.

This just confirms for everyone that it's been a long time since I applied for a job, and I have not been department chair recently (ever). :) Thankful for both.
michelledion.bsky.social
Oh... I meant departments! I assume they have to pay for interfolio, not candidates. Even worse if candidates have to pay.

In Canada, the "market" (<- lolz, none to speak of) is so small that it's all email based, and there's some expectation that advisors customize letters to position<-madness

Does it cost them money though? Our time costs them nothing.

And it will use that to help its advice. It will read your doc, too. FWIW.

Agree that women should go up sooner. At my Uni, prior Eng Provost worried that all in Humanities and Social Sciences went up 3-5 years later than others - so there’s generalized anxiety/insecurity probably, too.

Jeez. My book and nearly ever paper I’ve ever published, including ones in Spanish, are in there. 🧐 No wonder AI seems so smart. 🙄
