Mycosovereignty and The Last of Us: How Fungal Horror Redefines Humanity, Agency, and Social Relationships
Exploring the concept of mycosovereignty through The Last of Us and how fungal networks reshape human identity, community, and posthuman ecology.

“A human plants a tree; the tree bears fruit; the fruit sustains the human. This reciprocal exchange reflects a balance of agency across species and systems. When this balance is disrupted—particularly by an ecological catastrophe—the consequences are dire.”

I’ve ran into this so many times. People think creatives are just naturally talented, that they create everything with perfect precision the first time and that they have done it since birth. It’s practice. It’s 100s of hours, doing the same thing over and over and doing it better through failure.
Recently posted that people who say they can't draw can actually draw, they just need to practice.
The reaction from people who insist they can't draw was that it's bollocks & practice will never make you better at skills you don't have.
Then I had to explain that desire to practice is also crucial.

Had a couple of folk say they wanted to make comics but couldn’t draw well enough. So PSA: if you make the thing, you get better at the drawing (and the writing) in the process of making the thing. And then the next one is a bit better, and so on and so forth. Making “crap” stuff is allowed.

Queer theory is one of my favorite things to talk about. It’s helped me come to both amazing conclusions in texts I’ve read, as well as how it impacts my everyday life.

I've peeked at X a couple of times lately through my old fan accounts (burned up main acct several months ago). People I love are there.
It's giving Stormfront in the 2000s. The algorithm is pushing a white nationalist view of the world.
The Twitter we knew and loved is dead. X is its corpse.

I realize posting this here is preaching to the choir. But after the Grok White Genocide thing & Ye essentially launching an exclusive Neo Nazi single on the platform... I felt motivated to write about X and how bizarre it is that so many people (news outlets, celebrities, politicians) use it
What Are People Still Doing on X?
Imagine if your favorite neighborhood bar turned into a Nazi hangout

A friend of mine recently hosted a sapphic book tea party, and I am extraordinarily jealous. Not because they didn’t tell me, but rather because I live in America and they are in Edinburgh.

And while we’re in these dark and profoundly stupid times, might I suggest Martha S. Jones’s work—highlighting how African Americans used the courts to argue for the idea of birthright citizenship long before the Civil War as a means to establish their status as free citizens.
