Unbeknownst to most or long forgotten is that on October 8 and October 10, 2023; Hamas offered the same deal that’s being pitched as Trump’s “Gaza Peace Deal” which would have handed all hostages over to Israel in exchange for Israeli troops not entering the strip, Netanyahu refused the proposal.

Shout out to all the frustrated creators surrounded by less talented people that have more motivation.

Twelve Jobs Nigel has earned over £1 million in additional income since the general election.

To understand the scale of it, since the July 2024 election he's earned roughly £100k more as a brand ambassador for Direct Bullion than Starmer gets as PM.

A cool charity in Hoxton that teaches & gives disadvantaged kids skills in filmmaking has asked me a question:

Any female animators want to take part in a mentorship programme they run?

They've been doing good work for 25+ years.

Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.

Not sure they stock things directly. They don't have their own warehouse etc.
They are set up to order from the main suppliers. They just act like a convenient online shop for an indie bookshop.

Bluesky are resharing this after they revealed yesterday that every photo uploaded here is sent to an external company that is selling GenAI services.

Note that none of them are actually confirming that none of these images are being used by that external company to train their systems.

Bluesky uses AI internally to assist in content moderation, which helps us triage posts and shield human moderators from harmful content. We also use AI in the Discover algorithmic feed to serve you posts that we think you’d like.

None of these are Gen AI systems trained on user content.

it is easier to avoid feeling shame and humiliation if no one sees or cares what you do. Which is why Kemi Badenoch is still talking.

If Wikipedia goes, that's the last redoubt of the usable internet-as-knowledge-repository gone. Truth will be whatever this deformity says it is.

Just caught up & found out that Saturday is Bookshop Day - 11 Oct.

By pure chance, I'll be at @batterseabookshop.bsky.social from about 12 - 5pm this Saturday.

To celebrate #BookshopDay with @booksaremybag.bsky.social if you pop in & buy a book, I'll do something like draw you an original bookmark

It’s bookshop day on 11th October. A day to celebrate your local bookshop.

You could even go totally bananas and buy my latest, Saltburn, which is about, after all, small businesses being assailed by big business. Well, that’s one thing it’s about…

booksaremybag.com/BookshopDay/...
The bookshop day poster. It asks you to choose bookshops:

Local jobs
Local economy
Local community
Real passion
Real people
Real conversations
Proper service
Perfect gifts
(and taxes paid!) The cover of Saltburn. Candy stripes coming from a picture of a seal sitting under a beach umbrella.

Badenoch wants to eliminate ‘rip off degrees’ like English. The usual philistine crap that a degree is just about work. The mission to create the stupidest nation on earth. And counterproductive. Young people will work for years. They’ll retrain endlessly. A degree can help them learn how to learn

Honestly, bookshop.org was a blessing & helped pay shop bills every month

Clicked on this, and got this advert in the corner. Nice!
A screen shot of Kemi Badenoch drinking water, the by-line is "Twenty Conservative Councillors have defected to Reform" below which is an advert for Dulcolax, a laxative.
