I know I shouldn't have been surprised, but when I heard that Chris Tomlin sang at Charlie Kirk's funeral/political rally (let's be honest, it was more of a rally than a funeral), I was deeply disappointed.

His songs I grew up worshipping to are even more tainted with right-wing authoritarianism.

One thing to remember about the rising tide of authoritarianism in the U.S. is that, if we get through this, we need a robust conversation about the Executive Branch’s decades-long power expansion.

As someone who works in this nonprofit space, Trump has been working to dismantle progressive nonprofits and its funding sources since he was re-elected. It is a major part of his agenda and it has nothing to do with Charlie Kirk.
