15 points is big. It's an indisputable win.
sallyjenx.bsky.social
I credit Justin Thomas for a lot of what happened today.
steegs.bsky.social
a good pat on the back for the Americans
sallyjenx.bsky.social
If the Americans had any team chemistry at all in the team play, it'd be a different story. Have to credit the Europeans for a historically great performance over the four team sessions.
jameswilson1781.bsky.social
Europe will win with 14.5 which is .5 point more than they actually earned
sallyjenx.bsky.social
Huge rescue effort of their self respect by the USA.
sallyjenx.bsky.social
I don't disagree.
hostgopher.bsky.social
And his poor judgment in yesterday's pairings even more magnified, given 1 more point would have mattered
sallyjenx.bsky.social
Actually Thomas didn't. He played to the crowd on his own great shots, but he repeatedly tried to quiet the yelling at Europeans.
ayallgood.bsky.social
Thomas seemed repeatedly to encourage that filth.
I'm no fan of bad sportsmanship.

He & DeChambeau should move to Saudi Arabia.
sallyjenx.bsky.social
It's been a rare pleasure to watch Justin Thomas, Cameron Young and J.J. Spaun fight to salvage the USA's self-respect.
sallyjenx.bsky.social
DeChambeau making an awfully strong late run, credit where due.
sallyjenx.bsky.social
Justin Thomas future Ryder Cup captain.
sallyjenx.bsky.social
He'd say the Americans have stunk worse than three week old hamburger meat.
sallyjenx.bsky.social
He'd call DeChambeau "DeDumbo."
sallyjenx.bsky.social
NBC is sanitizing the utterly vile conduct in the sodden galleries.
sallyjenx.bsky.social
Not if we wanted to win something on national TV.

I mean, wouldn’t we all opt for Napa in that choice?
sallyjenx.bsky.social
While the Europeans came early to Bethpage to practice and stayed in the NY area for 10 days, the American pre-game plan was a trip to Napa wine country.
sallyjenx.bsky.social
There is a very cringy video of Keegan Bradley saying the Americans would kick "some effing ass" at Bethpage. Instead we have a "please sir may I have another" situation.

Perhaps it's not theatrical - perhaps it's just arrogance.
sallyjenx.bsky.social
Luke Donald asked the Euro players to stay on the East coast and not go home in the 10 days leading to the Cup, and also that they not make dinner trips into the city this week. They've been focused and mission driven, and hung together.
sallyjenx.bsky.social
I mean, how can the American team be surprised by the set up, conditions and green speeds at their HOME course? How embarrassing.
sallyjenx.bsky.social
All this phony theatrical patriotism by the Americans in the Ryder Cup. If they'd meant it, they'd have studied the course. The Euros came to Bethpage on Sept 16 for a practice trip, then stayed in the NY area afterwards waiting for the formal practice week to begin. Been here almost 2 weeks.
sallyjenx.bsky.social
DeChambeau four down after just six holes. No gas. That's what comes from playing exhibition LIV golf
sallyjenx.bsky.social
Also, do you see any American teams out there with real rapport? The kind of shoulder-hugging that Rose and Fleetwood obviously have, or McIlroy and Lowry?
sallyjenx.bsky.social
Scheffler is such a meditative, rhythmic, self-contained player, he just doesn't seem suited for all this shirt-ripping.
sallyjenx.bsky.social
Here's big shouldered Bryson DeChambeau just dying to play hero, and all that slight little Tommy Fleetwood does is hit it inside of him.
sallyjenx.bsky.social
If there was a game ball to give out, Tommy Fleetwood would get it for Europe.
