While the Europeans came early to Bethpage to practice and stayed in the NY area for 10 days, the American pre-game plan was a trip to Napa wine country.

Luke Donald asked the Euro players to stay on the East coast and not go home in the 10 days leading to the Cup, and also that they not make dinner trips into the city this week. They've been focused and mission driven, and hung together.

All this phony theatrical patriotism by the Americans in the Ryder Cup. If they'd meant it, they'd have studied the course. The Euros came to Bethpage on Sept 16 for a practice trip, then stayed in the NY area afterwards waiting for the formal practice week to begin. Been here almost 2 weeks.
