Those of us who know the back story know it wasn't quite that clean.
But in the end, hell yes:

The obsession by so many in the sports media over Shadeur Sanders is fascinating, and by fascinating I really mean stupid. Geez, let it go.

Well played.

UNC does have experience faking academics for athletes, so an honorary degree should be no problem

"Come on, that would be underhanded, and they would be playing with people's lives, and a school's athletic department and football program would never lie about something so important," said nobody.

“The school continued to insist it had not officially hired anybody as its new head coach, despite the season opening tomorrow.”

Wait, so now athletes have to wait until a new coach is HIRED before they can enter the portal?

Previously, it was immediately after the previous coach was fired.

"I don’t want to overdo it with a pity party here ... but I do wonder if it might behoove us to give a 21-year-old a little bit of grace and some room to grow."

This is a fair statement from @williamfleitch.bsky.social.
Here's the problem: Money always changes perceptions and the grading scale.

Good point by @sethemerson.bsky.social here. While Carson Beck's season at Miami is getting a lot of attention at Georgia, the guy they REALLY miss is Brock Bowers. The Bulldogs' plummet in yards-per-play the last TWO seasons is stunning.
www.nytimes.com/athletic/669...
Does Georgia need a go-to receiver? Another reason Brock Bowers may be missed
Since Brock Bowers went to the NFL, Georgia's offense hasn't had the same go-to option in their offense.

“'The fact that we don't have money to pay journalists, but we have money to pay Bari Weiss between $100 and 200 million is indicative of what the Ellisons' true goal here is,' a network correspondent said. 'And it's not journalism.'"
CBS News staffers are ‘literally freaking out’ about Bari Weiss taking over newsroom
EXCLUSIVE: ‘People are using words like depressing and doomsday – feels like some sort of doomsday,’ one source told The Independent about the mood inside CBS News right now.

Breaking News: The U.S. struck another boat in the Caribbean, the U.S. defense secretary said, killing four men he accused of drug running, without offering evidence. He said he directed the strike on President Trump’s orders.

I’m old enough to remember when people would get arrested, charged with crimes and have trials. Now we just get claims from officials who have proven to be liars. Even if true, there is zero justification in this. Zero.
jameeljaffer.bsky.social
Don’t believe anyone who tells you that intelligence shows anything “without a doubt,” but even if the intelligence was water-tight, this strike was still murder. No law permits the deliberate, premeditated killing of civilians.

I liked Mac Jones before the 2021 draft and thought he would be a solid pic for the Falcons (if they traded down from 4 and picked up extra picks). It's clear the Patriots were more messed up than anybody realized when he was there.

If Bill Belichick thought he could land an NFL job after one good season at North Carolina ... oops.

Bill Belichick led the Patriots to 6 Super Bowl rings, but a month into his first college season he’s looked way in over his head. UNC has faced two Big 12 teams and lost by an average score of 41-12. Why has his team looked so bad? One rival coach has a good theory: www.nytimes.com/athletic/668...

At North Carolina, six-time Super Bowl winner Bill Belichick appears to have simply assembled a poor roster.

I second this emotion from the AJC’s Ken Sugiura. The Braves’ should retire Brian Snitker’s number. It’s not just about his time as manager and winning a World Series. It’s about his near half-century in the organization.

www.ajc.com/sports/2025/...
Why the Braves should retire Brian Snitker’s jersey number
Snitker gave his entire professional career to the Braves organization, and the vast majority of it was at the minor-league level, where he was not living a life of comfort.
