Latinas who work full-time, year-round & part-time earn only 54 cents for every $1 earned by a white male. Earlier this year, House Dems introduced a pay equity bill package to provide tools and requirements for MI employers to ensure all #Trabajadoras are compensated fairly.

The Rx Kids program in Flint proved what's possible when we invest in families from the start. House Democrats delivered a budget that expands the program to more communities to help more Michigan families give their babies a healthy start.

Perhaps no single item in the state budget was more important to House Dems, or emblematic of our values, than the protection of the free school meals. Despite GOP attempts to eliminate this critical offering, thanks to our advocacy tonight we passed a budget that protected that.

Protecting our homes and neighborhoods starts with strong infrastructure. That’s why I testified before the Approps Subcommittee on Labor and Economic Opportunity, asking for support to repair the Lake Lansing Dam. Fixing it now will prevent flooding and protect our community for years to come.

I testified in the LEO House Appropriations Subcommittee to advocate for $1.1 M from the state budget to be allocated to the City of Lathrup Village for the replacement of a 97 yr old water main. This investment is about public safety, restoring key infrastructure & giving families peace of mind.
