Some folks were worried that they'd sic thugs on the protestors or declare martial law. Instead they posted AI videos and complained.

These people have no juice. Their supporters are cowards. They are are all bark and no bite. They collapse when we push back. Remember that.

people keep making comments about private equity buying up these farms, and, sure, maybe some of that happens, but there’s no market. the tariffs have vaporized the demand for these farms. it’s not a matter of buying up land and holding out until next year, that whole market is fucking toast.
correct. farmpacolypse is coming, and they are not only incapable of stopping it, they don’t even realize it’s coming.
I mean, yikes. If even the administration is admitting that they're stuck on minor detail such as "how much, from where, and how to get it to people", folks are in trouble.

UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 4: Sylvia Rivera

In the 1970s, queer New Yorkers had been pushed to the margins of NYC. Our trans neighbors faced immense cruelty. But in Sylvia Rivera, they found a champion.

As we combat Trump’s politics of darkness, her legacy can light the path forward.

LA County supervisors are the most powerful elected representatives in the country. Each represent about 2 million people. To get four of them to agree to this is pretty impressive.

Californians, let’s call (916) 445-2841 to tell Newsom’s office to sign the following pro LGBTQ+ rights bills before the deadline:

AB 82/SB 497
AB 1084/SB 59
SB 418
AB 554
AB 728
AB 678
SB 590
SB 450
He hasn't signed the other bills yet, but he still has days to do so
This headline is misleading for not mentioning that.

The gender education veto is bad, but far from the most important trans rights bill on his desk.

There's still time to contact Newsom for the rest!

Trump 2.0 has really exposed how brittle and broken the West Coast states' tax systems are. WA, OR, and CA all have a 1% property tax cap. WA has a sales tax but no income tax; OR has an income tax but no sales tax. It is not possible to effectively resist Trump without fixing these tax systems.
The news has sent counties throughout California into a panic. The state is bracing to lose hundreds of millions of dollars for permanent housing, which is the one thing experts agree on as the most effective way to solve homelessness. https://cal.news/4nBKuZI

Reminder that @governor.ca.gov is reportedly considering vetoing SB79, the best housing bill to clear the CA legislature in decades.

It would be a *disaster*, substantively & for Newsom's political future. Really hope he doesn't self-immolate.

Tell him!

This is a huge deal. AB 288 allows California's PERB to take over monitoring union elections and monitoring ULPs when the NRLB cedes jurisdiction, as is happening with an increasingly empty and pro-boss board. Great for new organizing and great for CA asserting independence from the feds.
THIS IS HUGE! @governor.ca.gov just signed #AB288 into law, guaranteeing California workers A REAL RIGHT TO A UNION! This is the most significant labor law reform in nearly a century! #AB288 returns power to the workers joining together to unionize! 💪

Left right and center there is a lot of magical thinking around the insurance industry. It honestly freaks me out how there basically aren’t any adults in the room anywhere as far as I can tell.
Gotta say I'm pretty frustrated with the state of insurance discourse on the left. I don't see much reckoning with the fact that even if you "abolish the insurance companies," you need to somehow manage the radically shifting risk profile of many communities. www.sfchronicle.com/opinion/emil...
