The President of the United States doesn’t seem to know what habeas corpus is
atrupar.com
Q: Have you given any more thought to possibly suspending habeas corpus?

TRUMP: Suspending who?

Q: Habeas corpus

TRUMP: I don't know. I'd rather leave that to Kristi.

If appropriations bills are not seen as enforceable contracts, why should any Member of Congress vote to fund any part of the federal government under Donald Trump? You're voting to provide money for lawlessness. www.doomsdayscenario.co/p/there-is-n...
There is no budget "deal" to be made
President Trump has so broken the constitutional framework as to make joint normal, responsible government impossible.

An incredible case of marketing brain. The bit about how it enables a shortened form -- "PhAM" -- is particularly funny. So unnecessary when everyone already just calls it either "the Art Museum" or the PMA, both of which are shorter than "The Philadelphia Art Museum" and "PhAM."

This is some atrocious reporting. The law is not remotely ambiguous and is codified as a statute. The existence of a Treasury Department website providing historical context is of zero import.
(b) United States currency has the inscription "In God We Trust" in a place the Secretary decides is appropriate. Only the portrait of a deceased individual may appear on United States currency and securities. The name of the individual shall be inscribed below the portrait.

This is such a flagrant violation of every principle of international law and sovereignty that it’s hard to actually believe even when we definitively know it is true (and even when it is consistent with all other behaviours).
American intelligence officials have now confirmed to CBS News that Netanyahu ordered the drone attacks on the Sumud flotilla while it was docked in Tunisia, an attack launched from Israeli Navy submarines off the Tunisian coast.

Obviously, this is loser shit, but I think AI has really cemented itself as the visual language of fascism. It's anti-human, flattened, uninteresting, and cheap. It's like looking at a Potemkin Village and thinking that's the same as architecture.

Everyone should listen to Chris Murphy's extraordinary warning about Trump on our pod. First, he says the logic must be that the more lawless he gets, the stiffer the resistance.

"If I give in and consent to these kinds of tactics then it just normalizes it all." 1/

MEET SIGERSON BELL

In the vibrant nexus of art and technology, Sigerson Bell stands as a paragon of mystery and innovation. An anonymous virtuoso, Bell's identity remains shrouded secrecy, yet his work speaks volumes, echoing through the realms of colorful surrealism and AI collaboration. An interesting bit of history in this thread.
garius.bsky.social
In 1945, the Allies faced a tricky question: where to hold Nazi war criminals until the trials.

A run-down hotel in Luxembourg was quickly converted to a prison ("Camp Ashcan"). The hope was to keep the nature of the prisoners secret.

In May 1945, this failed, and almost turned into a disaster. /1

Judge SLAMS the masking of federal agents in ruling finding Trump admin violated pro-Palestine protesters' rights:

"To us, masks are associated with cowardly desperados and the despised Ku Klux Klan."
storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...
And there’s the issue of masks. ... ICE goes masked for a single reason -- to terrorize Americans into quiescence. Small wonder ICE often seems to need our respected military to guard them as they go about implementing our immigration laws. It should be noted that our troops do not ordinarily wear masks. Can you imagine a masked marine? It is a matter of honor -- and honor still matters. To us, masks are associated with cowardly desperados and the despised Ku Klux Klan. In all our history we have never tolerated an armed masked secret police. Carrying on in this fashion, ICE brings indelible obloquy to this administration and everyone who works in it. “We can not escape history,” Lincoln rightly said. “[It] will light us down in honor or dishonor, to the latest generation.”
