2025 Books Read
1. Matthew Gabiele and David M Perry. The Bright Ages: a new history of medieval Europe. Listened through Hoopla on audiobook. After Oathbreakers, I wanted to backtrack to their earlier book. Liked it, although it wasn't quite the compulsive read as the fighting Franks.

I went to visit the cats today. Walters Art Museum has two exhibits at the moment. One shows medieval cats shown in manuscripts, including some paw prints.

No anemia which is a relief. Which means the head meds may need to be adjusted. Sigh.

*wants to shake Onedrive* I never had file organization problems before they added Onedrive... or they were of my own weird making.

I am too organized *and* disorganized for my own good sometimes. I kept searching for the missing half of a manuscript w/ comments/etc only to discover I'd dropped it into a hanging file folder for "safe" keeping.

Waited longer for actual appointment than the bloodwork.

Sigh... time to visit Dr Julia Hoffman for bloodwork.

Ugh. Checking Libby and only seeing audiobook because they used Hoopla to fill the ebook gaps. I expect that to be a common refrain.

Ugh. I do not want to party like it's 1929.

Just one more piece of bad news for libraries this year.

Baker & Taylor appears to be shutting down. A post on the r/libraries subreddit from an employee of B&T breaks the news and there appear to be other employees in the comments confirming the situation.

"individual-based decision making" for vaccines?! At least they're still covering them.

The last thing I want to do right now is spend money, especially on medical bills, but better safe than sorry with the bloodwork.
