If things don't change, history will see Schumer, Jeffries, Klobuchar and their ilk for what they are: "appeasers," and that tactic will work no better than appeasement did before WW2.
Democrats could act like a real opposition party, refusing to validate Trump malfeasance with votes, and setting up a shadow cabinet that regularly communicates how Democrats would be different. But nah.

It’s not only a majority of Democratic voters that hate this approach. US allies see it too.
The incredibly lukewarm Democratic response on Greenland is being noticed in Europe, incidentally.

Chuck Schumer not finding a stronger word than “quixotic” for Trump’s plan to seize Greenland has been name checked to me more than once.

Pew Research Institute (2023):

• Red State Texas has about 2.1 million undocumented immigrants

• Red State Florida has 1.6 M undocumented immigrants

• Blue State Minnesota has 130,000.

And yet only Minnesota is being occupied by masked thugs over "immigration."

It's *not* about immigration.

We just saw this, and it’s a good idea for businesses to post. Private businesses are allowed to set dress and conduct rules. Requiring no full face coverings has long been standard for safety and loss prevention reasons, and it is within a business’s rights to refuse entry or service.

Besides the danger his imbecilic actions bring, I wake up sad and ashamed that our allies now see Americans as, at best, untrustworthy, at worst adversaries. Hope they know most Americans don’t support this. Sickened that Rs won’t act. Feckless, destructive. www.nytimes.com/2026/01/18/w...

I've said this before and I'll say it again.
It would only take a tiny handful of Republican Congress members or senators to stop the slide of America toward authoritarian fascism, but nope. They're all in.

$1.5T for the military budget
$170B for ICE and Border Patrol
$1B to refurbish Trump's Qatar jet
$470M to send National Guard into cities
$230M for Trump's DOJ "compensation"
$200M for Kristi Noem's jets
$100M for Trump's golf outings

But no money to lower your healthcare costs.

ICE has kidnapped so many people from their cars that the city had to put out this statement. Let that sink in.
Vehicles that are abandoned due to an ICE detention and towed to the City's impound lot will be released to their owners or a representative at no cost.

Kamala Harris was right about literally everything.

Trump had an enemies list, she had a to-do list.

It's sad to think where we are right now as a country compared to where we could have been had more people not bought into the con.

I’m not going to sit quietly while people lie about this. Renee Good was kind. She was leaving. The sounds at the end are bullets being fired into her car from the side. Watch the video and stop pretending this was justified.

USPS quietly changed its postmark rules — mail is no longer dated when you drop it off. The “official” date is when it hits automated sorting — sometimes days later

Which could have major implications for mail in voting — it’s a clever way to disenfranchise voters that’s going largely overlooked
