6,100 qubits got trapped by lasers, breaking the record for the largest array of qubits! The results bode well for quantum computing platforms made of neutral atoms. Hannah Manetsch takes us on a tour of the experimental setup! @caltech.edu www.youtube.com/watch?v=ij_c...

So, @microsoft.com added a new AI grammar editor in Outlook this week and it's complete garbage. Every one of its suggestions is wrong, and there's no way to turn it off.

Yesterday morning, I received a couple of intriguing messages from a friend who commutes on the metro a lot. They wanted a device that could tell them if a seat pad is wet before sitting down.

People say "drive it like you stole it" and mean for you to drive a car fast and recklessly, but I think any professional car thief would tell you that you should drive a stolen car responsibly and in a manner that does not attract unnecessary attention.

God bless the grass
That grows thru the crack
They roll the concrete over it
To try and keep it back
The concrete gets tired
Of what it has to do
It breaks and it buckles
And the grass grows thru!

And God bless the grass

All right, stranger, we're not uncivilized in these parts. We'll feed you dinner and you can stay the night in my barn. I just have two conditions.

First you have to stay away from my daughter. Second, and most importantly, you're not to lay a finger upon my hucow.

A few months ago, a friend gave me her dad's old metal lathe. It had been gathering dust in her garage for over twenty years.

It needed some work, but today, my friend and I finally got it in good enough shape to try latheing some things.

It did great! Very exciting!

Logged back on to this site after 16 months away and found that someone just four days ago replied to a post of mine from July of 2023 asking me to explain my opinion about something.

I'm watching Oppenheimer in a few minutes to get out of the heat and because I'm watching Barbie with a friend on Monday.

People who dressed for Barbie but couldn't get seats are trudging in here instead, adorned in their finest pinks for the bomb history movie

Sometimes being able to make things you need feels really cool. I'm going camping tomorrow and the bag for my tent just ripped, so I got out an canvas drop cloth and cut it up and sewed it into a bag shape, and made a drawstring for it out of some parachute cord and now my tent is ready to go
