🚨 Trump’s Tariffs Could Devastate MI 🚨

Trump’s reckless trade war with CA isn’t just bad policy—it’s a direct attack on Michigan’s economy. That means CA tariffs us leading to higher energy costs, job losses, and massive disruptions to industries that rely on cross-border trade.

At 4p ET/1p PT, I’ll have a one of a kind interview with Joaquin Oliver. He died in the Parkland school shooting. But his parents have created an AI version of their son for a powerful message on gun violence. Plus TX Rep. @jamestalarico.bsky.social - see you soon on Substack and later on YouTube.

Wild that right-wing families somehow aren’t to blame for their longstanding and systematic snubbing of queer and lefty children.

I was glad to be interviewed for this article. The PM is revisiting the U.S. jet contract due to our strategic exposures. The same is true for this contract for a US consortium to manage our nuclear labs. The contract should be cancelled before it comes into effect in Sept.

It’s good to see the G7 Statement on Transnational Repression. Beijing will get the message that other nations are working together against their efforts to scare and coerce their citizens, and those of other countries as well.

G7 Leaders’ Statement on Transnational Repression
TNR undermines national security, state sovereignty, the safety and human rights of victims, and principles of international law. It has a chilling effect in our countries.

This Globe & Mail editorial makes a strong case that the Foreign Agent Registry should have been implemented long ago. I expect the PM will announce the Commissioner and implementation at the time of the G7 mtg, expected to discuss China’ s transnational repression.

Remembering June 4, 1989 when thousands of students were killed in Tiananmen Square for peacefully demonstrating for democracy. Thousands of civilians were killed in other parts of Beijing for supporting the students. The same happened in cities across China where there had been demonstrations.

This is a beautiful account by
@sproudfoot.bsky.social of the historic event for the Speech from the Throne. The reader feels they are sitting among the dignitaries experiencing it. Thank you, Shannon.

There’s an old idea that you campaign in poetry and govern in prose. But then there’s what that means when your head of state comes to town

The first Sunday after Trump was elected in 2016, he wanted to walk down Fifth Ave from Trump Tower to attend Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church. The Church refused to allow his visit so he stayed home in his golden apartment. Wise decision on the part of the Church.
How can Catholics support this blasphemy??

WTH is Jason Kenny doing at the same desk as At Issue. He does not deserve to be there. What, was the desk too long so they thought they would just stick a Conservative politician there? Really?!

Paul Chiang is right to step down. He should have done so days ago. It’s astounding that @markjcarney.bsky.social didn’t see the importance of this. The RCMP is actively investigating in the context of our new legislation barring people from intimidating others to the benefit of a foreign entity.

This is an opportunity for Mark Carney to lay down a marker that his will be a government of ethics, and any unethical behaviour will be dealt with firmly and quickly. He’s running out of time for doing it “quickly”.
