I missed that @samthielman.com wrote a great piece about the genius Gilbert Hernandez for the NYTimes!

Look, there are a lot of characters, but if you can keep up with Marvel you can keep up with the Luba/Fritz-verse.

Apologies for so much etsy posting, but it’s a big part of how we operate. Anyhow, there is a TON of original art on sale rn for pre-Black Friday. Go take a look! helioscopepdx.etsy.com?section_id=6...

Device…hoarding. Because you don’t go get a new one while yours is still fine.

Apparently I am also practicing car hoarding, house hoarding, husband hoarding, dog hoarding, computer hoarding, furniture hoarding and art hoarding.
stupid young people, stop buying a new phone every year if you don't want to be broke. wait no, not like that.

It always frustrates me when interviewers on podcasts ask a guest at the end if there's any questions they haven't asked them. Like, it's your job to think of questions. You either covered it or you didn't. Asking a guest if there's anything you haven't asked them puts them in an awkward space.

As a survivor of the Tulsa Race Massacre, Viola Ford Fletcher bravely shared her story so that we’d never forget this painful part of our history. Michelle and I are grateful for her lifelong work to advance civil rights, and send our love to her family.

The total is now 9. 9 UCP MLAs are currently the subject of recall petitions. Marlaina is now talking about going back & amending the law again, this time to make it harder to get a petition going.

They're clowns & grifters. Shameless & corrupt. Get rid of the lot of them. youtu.be/JlB5qPbhA-k?...

Langridge returns to the Muppets!
I cannot properly describe the joy I feel in announcing that my friend ROGER LANGRIDGE (@hotelfred.bsky.social) is writing, drawing and lettering MUPPETS NOIR, starting in February! @dearbhlala.bsky.social's on colors, Declan Shalvey's done a variant cover & I get to edit the whole thing.

Did this on my accounts this morning.
If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."

There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.

Trina Robbins was a national treasure. I got legitimately choked up when she was asked if she was confident that she would see a woman president in her lifetime and she says, "Yeah! I'm not going anywhere. There's still time." open.spotify.com/episode/0X7m...

Another cool thrift store find. I think the first season got a domestic release on physical media but I have my eye on a S2 Agent Carter BD that's supposed to be region free so this doubles as an inexpensive test for my gear.

I've never actually seen a Laurel and Hardy film but I picked this DVD up for two bucks and a quarter at the local Goodwill and it features an audio commentary so, even if the movie isn't to my taste, the commentary will still probably be worth the money spent.

Marlaina and her cronies can go fuck themselves. I guess Albertans no longer have rights protected under the law anymore as the UCP is more than happy to use the notwithstanding clause whenever they want to prevent challenges in court. youtu.be/n2GY2baK4Rc?...

John Oliver's season finale was great, glad he focused on public media, and how important it is to fund. Red states tend to benefit from it the most.

He has an auction site up to help raise money, johnoliversjunk.com, which even has an actual Bob Ross painting on it (but it's at 1 million).
