A very important, elemental concept that I wish more people writing about policy understood is this:

***one person’s cost is another person’s income****

It’s the source of a whole lot of confusion and also an inherent source of conflict between different interests.

Life is so short. We are all going to die.

Imagine choosing to inspire hate instead of sowing love. Imagine choosing profit over people. Imagine seeing the worst rather than hoping for the best.

Love is what makes life tolerable and good. Those who take that away are the cruelest, most wretched.

I know things are bleak and scary right now. But I promise you that you - yes YOU - can get through this.

You don't have to fight all of this on your own. Find one person you can help, and help them. Make the life of one person better every day.

Hold onto your joy.

That's how we win.

They say “We can’t do that. We’re not Amsterdam.” You reply “Amsterdam wasn’t always like that either” and show before & after transformations illustrating how the cities we admire made CHOICES, and changed. They try new excuses. You don’t accept them either. (1e van der Helststraat, 1978 & 2005)
