Pssst, if any Long COVID (or ME/CFS, IACCI, etc) friends are thinking of using the new free RTHM AI tool, worth noting that their terms of service explicitly grant them permission to use any medical history you upload to train their models.

It was never about "doing it the right way."

My kids & I all had our ADHD assessments at the same clinic, & all had the same boredom tolerance test involving a blinking light & a button.
- Kid 1 turned on hyperfocus gamer mode & powered through
- I fell asleep
- Kid 2 cheerfully absconded from the room giggling “NOPE!”

3 out of 3 over here.

It’s easy to forget now that the landscape is so bleak, but I got into this work because once upon a time I loved the internet, all its weird little corners and goofy humor.

Sometimes for bedtime I introduce the tween to ancient internet relics. Tonight it was Cake Wrecks. This one had me laughing so hard I almost died. It took a full minute to save the picture because I couldn’t see from all the tears in my eyes. This decorator really did a great job.
A large, white, rectangular sheet cake. There is a large expanse of smooth white frosting. Printed (not script or cursive, print) in blue icing, so small it only takes up one quadrant of the cake, are the words “Great job.” No punctuation. Left justified. Great job.

Great to see Michigan’s Dana Nessel on this list.

On Friday 18 blue state attorneys general BLASTED the Federal Trade Commission, telling it to back off trans youth healthcare and warning of an insidious attempt to reshape the regulation of medicine in the US.

And nobody covered it.

lol, last time I took my kids to Costco they declared that it has the same energy vampires as IKEA. Which they call “vimpires,” from I can’t remember which children’s show.

This moment is a test. Donald Trump wants us to blink first and hand him over power.

We have too much to save to give in. Protecting the American people is too important a task for us to give up before anything even starts.

Did you know ICE is holding a disabled advocate and whistleblower who helped shut down one of their detention centres?

Alma Bowman is a 58 year old woman from Georgia who spent 30 months in ICE custody during the first Trump regime.

When released she became a fearless advocate for detainees 🧵

Disabled people are particularly vulnerable to abuse under fascism.

ICE has been neglecting the medical needs of detainees.

One disabled immigrant, Rodney Taylor, needs our help.

He's a double amputee who's been in the country since he was two years old. He's being held in solitary:

Rodney has been in the country more than 40 years. He's in solitary confinement in Georgia, being denied disability accommodations and having his medical needs ignored. He must be released.

*but it’s not settled. There was one proposal by the county sheriff that a public outcry successfully stopped, but there’s no set policy, and municipalities, HOAs, and local PDs can still do whatever they want. #a2council

If this city lost the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights, for example, a whole lot of people would be fucked. I respect that we all have lanes and different types of risks that we can engage with. The big orgs aren't going to take the lead on everything. FEEL EMPOWERED BY THIS.

This is what privacy advocates have been warning about for a long time. Locally, despite attempts at a ban Ann Arbor has a facial recognition policy that’s basically “yup, we use facial recognition.” Ditto drones. Countywide, there has been public pushback against ALPRs it’s not settled. #a2council

I spent the week at the police surveillance convention and let me tell you my biggest observation: The name of the game now is consolidating as much information as humanely possible from surveillance devices, the internet, other governmental data, and literally a million other places. 🧵

If I was a Dem politician, I would own the hell out of this.

"The Republicans party is the party of fascism, and I refuse to enable a fascist, authoritarian government. So yes, I'm shutting the government down and I encourage my colleagues to do the same for as long as it takes."

Trump: "They want to have transgender for everybody. These people are crazy -- the Democrats. So if it has to shut down, it'll have to shut down. But they're the ones that are shutting down the government."

Almost got run over crossing East Medical Center Drive this morning. I was one of at lest 3 people who experienced this during a single light cycle. Cars eastbound on Fuller simply do not stop for pedestrians crossing with the walk light.
