What people should realize about "breaking up the MMR vaccine": Standalone shots for measles, mumps, and rubella are no longer licensed in the U.S.

So convincing parents to demand "separate shots" will lead those parents to a dead end ... because their doctors can't currently provide those shots.

ACIP’s job is to make vaccine recommendations (and decide what’s covered by the Vaccines for Children plan). They don’t have direct authority over the vaccine information statements, they can’t order a prescription for something, and they can’t tell doctors what to tell patients.
