I feel this. To my core. And understand, I’m not perfect, but I meet so many flawed people - dishonest, flaky, ghosting, etc. I have a great life to share, but I feel more at peace enjoying it alone.

Rob Reiner was a good guy. He made a lot of movies about good guys, in worlds where not everyone was good and you didn’t have to be good. He made movies about people trying. He was angry, as many hopeful people are. He knew the world could be better and he wanted it to be. His death is devastating.

I feel like at least in leftist US spaces, we all sort of know Thanksgiving is an iffy holiday with fucked up roots. The problem isn't just cultural attachment, though; it's that for many working Americans, this is the longest stretch of time you get off without having to take PTO.
