LA is building a new $1.5 billion freeway into LAX.

The very same airport where we just spent $2 billion on the people mover — actually, more like $3 billion, plus another $900 million if you count Metro's investment in the LAX station; so let's just say $4 billion — to make cars go away

Today I joined @governor.ca.gov, colleagues, and environmental leaders to sign the biggest affordability & climate legislation in decades. While Trump rolls back climate progress, these bills will reduce wildfire risk, lower electric bills, and increase funding for transit & housing.

I just signed bipartisan laws to lower Californians' electricity costs, stabilize our gas supply, and provide a stable funding source for @cahsra.bsky.social's high-speed rail.

Millions of Californians will soon start saving billions on their energy costs, and the savings don’t stop there.

Our advocacy on the budget—to protect public transportation funds from proposed cuts—was successful! Thank you @scottwiener.bsky.social and @jessearreguin.bsky.social and Asm Mark Gonzalez
Our budget agreement with the Governor is now public.

We fully protected public transportation funding — reversing all proposed cuts — & fully protected the $750M loan to Bay Area transit systems we previously agreed to with the Assembly. 🧵
