He used real people as political props.
Yesterday, Spc Sarah Becstrom was laid to rest in West Virginia at a VA National Cemetery.
Surprisingly none of the major major news media mention it. No flags were lower to half staff.
Well the Convicted FElon keeps the news focus on him.

I’ve heard from immigration attorneys that clients say ICE guards lay out the WRAP device (essentially a full-body straitjacket) on the tarmac as a threat — “do what we say or you’re getting the WRAP on the whole flight.”

And here’s proof, from Seattle livestream today via @lalabote.bsky.social.

Teach a man who hates socialism and votes for authoritarianism to farm and he can receive socialist handouts for life from the government that bankrupted him in the first place.

The conversations of the early 90’s centered around whether people could sit on sidewalks and flyers stapled to electrical poles was gonna get someone killed.
for reasons that may become clear, I've been going down a news archive rabbit hole, and damned if they weren't declaring that the "downtown shopping district" needed to be protected at the cost of people's civil liberties in 1992, using all the same arguments as today

ICE tried to kidnap Elaine Miles an Indigenous woman in Redmond. She showed them her tribal ID card and they still did not believe her. She told them to call the Umatilla Tribal enrollment office but they refused. They even tried to take her phone.

So glad we enabled them to get to the store. Take your time, keep clogging the lines.

Insane but true fact: making US roads as safe as Canadian, Australian, or European roads would save more lives than eliminating murder from the US.

I placed flags here as a child, desperately hiding history.
1/ The US Government has quietly removed a memorial to Black soldiers who died in World War II from the Netherlands American Cemetery in Margraten, South Limburg. The move follows a complaint from the right-wing Heritage Foundation to the American Battle Monuments Commission. ⬇️

The agency that has trouble keeping the escalators working, wants more machinery to manage.
“Unlike many other major U.S. transit agencies, Sound Transit’s light rail or commuter rail stations don’t feature gates where riders have to present proof-of-payment to enter, and instead rely entirely on fare ambassadors at stations and on board trains to enforce compliance.”
As Sound Transit starts to grapple with long-term budget woes that could derail transit projects across the region, agency leadership is expecting to take another look at whether to implement fare gates at stations to increase fare payment compliance.

Just build a hyper dense village in the smallest place by the freeway. Done. Keep the McMansion neighborhood.
The town of Yarrow Point (pop. 1,130, median home sale price $4.4 million) has a new proposal to increase its stock of affordable housing: cataloging all of the "philanthropic individuals" who are renting their houses out and getting credit for that.

“In 2023, there were a record 74,100 carless households, representing 20% of all Seattle households. That’s up from 53,200, or 16% of households, in 2017.”
Seattle’s population boom came with little vroom, vroom
Census data shows even as the number of households in Seattle has grown, the number of cars has remained effectively unchanged for years, writes FYI Guy.
