I didn't understand why people hate using "abrahamic religion" because there's a lot of overlap between them

Until I heard "the abrahamic holiday of christmas."

Alright. You were right. People do say it almost exclusively when they only mean christains. I was the weird one.

Remember how Tiger King came along and was like "here's a wacky tiger trafficker who orders hits on wildlife rescuers so they don't expose him. And here's a wildlife rescuer who has a bit of autism. The second one is the bad guy because she's weird."

And everyone went "Fuck yeah!!"

I know we make fun of twotter conservatives going "I have no pronouns!" but tumblr is DEEP in debate on whether "chat" is a "4th person pronoun," proving none of you assholes know what the hell a pronoun is

Looking up postpartum psychosis for writing research and the treatments for it are horrifying? It boils down to, "purposefully induce a seizure and load them up on a frankly absurd amount of lithium"

I ain't a doctor but what the fuck

I don't do blackout poetry often, basically only when there's a library program for it, but when I do, I like to choose a page with something profoundly sad on it and try to edit it to a message of hope.

Thought this book at the library was titled "A gentleman's guide to getting laid," and to be fair, I wasn't wrong.

One Little Sibling thing they don't tell you about is when the older moves out and your mom has to buy you clothes for the first time, you will actually have no idea what sort of clothes you like because you have literally never had to choose before

I thought I was breaking on writing based on the month-by-month, but I just did an early calc.

I'm actually about $120 in the red for the year.

Well, I was $200 in the red this time last year!

Personally, I didn't care too much for Wendell and Wild. I just didn't get into it.

But I ADORE when people talk to me about it. Even if it didn't resonate with me, it did resonate with others, and it's nice to hear them list their love. That's what art is about.

I'll never forget how a class I attended had to have its name changed from "welfare economics" (meaning a class discussing where the invisible hand theorum does and doesn't give accurate predictions) to "urban economics"

"welfare" made students avoid it fearing a lib class

But... urban won't?

Learning a doorway is only 6'7" tall makes me feel better about my own height. I always felt short around my friends, but they average like 6'6", and now I know their hair brushes door frames, a thing designed for the tallest readonable person

This. 80% of the work you do as a solo/micro business runner is marketing. Which is why making your passion your business can be so soul destroying.
I spend DRAMATICALLY more time on managing SEO than I do on basically anything else including bookkeeping.

I haven't finished the Pride Dreidels pattern I've been working on for weeks bc we've been fixing SEO on our coffee mugs.

It is actively detrimental to the amount of actual art I get done.
I've said this before and people are always pretty surprised:

There are no fact checkers in non-fiction publishing. The author is responsible for it, and can pay someone to do it, but your publisher will not. This is because publishing is about selling, not about being truthful.

Hey #authors what's the coolest element from something you wrote as a teen that you wish you were still unhinged enough to write now?

Mine is a protagonist with a magic tiger to ride. Nothing else was magical about the setting, she just had a magical, sentient tiger.

That deciding to buy banned books for your own personal shelves doesn't even come close to solving the harms done by book banning, and actually we'd rather you show up and speak out at your school board and library board meetings and also help elect better candidates - or run for office yourself.
