The BBC's justification for platforming Farage beyond the actual significance of his small parliamentary party are his polls. A rather cynical explanation, for he wouldn't be where he is without the constant, uncritical appearances he's given on the BBC. It's a (literally) vicious circle.

Remember that front page saying Nigel Farage has 9 jobs? Well, he's been working harder than ever for anyone except his constituents in Clacton, as it is revealed Farage has 12 other sources of income other than his parliamentary salary. www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news...

The MP for Clacton has more sources of paid income than anyone else in the House of Commons. Farage's latest entry in the Register of Members Financial Interests takes his number of "second jobs" to 12.

Well, if they can't even get the spelling of the country's name correct on their own literature, it seems they need English language graduates.

I fear you may be right. These storms just keep a-rollin' in!

I'm awaiting the onset of roof and gable end repairs, some of which is down to 200 years of mortar erosion, and (hopefully) to a lesser degree, storm Arwen, when a slate went walkabout.

Fun Fact - Kemi Badenoch (formerly Nigerian) wants to send migrants back where they came from was born Olukemi Olufunto "Kemi" Adegoke 1980 in Wimbledon. Coincidentally her mother travelled from Nigeria to UK for medical treatment and gave birth here…

So presumably she’d send herself to Nigeria 🤷🏼‍♂️

The performance tonight went very well. We even ended up being asked to dance alongside the Bhangra performance as several members had pulled out due to sick kids.
That was great fun, doing the kicks whilst wearing a 25 yard tribal bellydance skirt!
And I won a bottle of champagne in the raffle!

Met Museum photo of an Ancient Egyptian gold head ornament viewed from the front against a grey background. The headband is made of hammered sheet gold, the ends of which have been tapered to a narrower width and rolled to form loops. A string would have threaded through the loops to fasten the band around the head at the back. The front of the band is decorated with a central head of an antlered stag, identified as the Persian fallow deer (Dama mesopotamica). The stag has two large antlers, large ears and a triangular-shaped head. It is flanked on either side by two gazelle heads. The gazelle heads have long ears and long curved horns which point outwards at the tip. Between the animal heads are four 8-pointed flowers or stars. Dimensions: height of central stag 8.9, length of headband 49.5 cm.

Dated to the Second Intermediate period (c. 1648-1540 BC) when northern Egypt was ruled by the Hyksos from the ancient Near East. Said to be part of a group of objects found in the Eastern Delta near Avaris, the Hyksos capital. The headband shows a mix of ancient Near Eastern and Egyptian artistic styles.

The wind is now much less. Met Office forecasting a doubling of the wind speed in the next hour (50mph),to last into tomorrow.
I've a performance 35 miles away tonight, so I hope it doesn't ramp up too much.
We've been very lucky here, unlike a bit further north, but Amy hasn't quite left us yet...
