one of the signs things are falling apart compared to a year ago is that every once in a while you'll notice the mask start to slip and one of them will nervously look around like "hey are we sure we're gonna win this one?"

I broke up with someone in large part because I had studied logistics in grad school and realized this person would never solve problems on their own or feel compelled to figure out solutions to almost everything without my help

There are a lot of men out there who do not see any of the logistics happening around them and they're like "wait, where the fuck did these hand warmers come from?"

Look at every kid wearing mittens, and that's your answer. From the people who have been silently keeping hands warm for centuries.

Even looking closer at home: Your child is wearing mittens and underwear? You have dinner on the table? The floor has been swept?

Your kid has crayons in the classroom? There's food at the church potluck? The picnic goes of without a hitch? The political event has the right people invited and the speakers told the agenda? The play in the park happens in the summer?

"part of this is conservatives unable to imagine politics without money; part of this is conservatives projecting;

and part of this is dudes who are so out of touch with feminized labor that they think children's birthday parties exist as a spontaneous act of parthogenesis"

They find it inconceivable that you could believe in anything and act on it without getting paid because if there wasn’t an endorsement deal to hawk fake supplements or straight up cash for podcasting, these people wouldn’t even muster the effort to log on.
